About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Our current mission is to become truly sustainable on our farm here in Costa Rica. We want to be able to continue living this life that makes us so happy.

ABOUT ME

Barry & Kim met in Tanzania during their Peace Corps service. After PC, Barry moved to Cincinnati to court Kim. Kim said yes in the Dominican Republic. We purchased 22 acres in Costa Rica and made it into a Bed & Breakfast/Photography Education. We have walking trails through our forest and grow most of our own food.

PHILOSOPHY

Life should be simpler that what it currently is and people need to get back to growing their own food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am offering up coffee/day tours on our farm for right now. Please accept our apologies that we can not offer up a couch right now.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In our previous house, we had a guest from Humboldt Cty, CA that stayed with us for a few days. We learned a lot about trans-gender relationships from her. No one really wants to visit Cincinnati so our experience is limited. We do however have a network of Peace Corps volunteers that we visit frequently.

Music, Movies, and Books

Barry loves Fight Club and Art Wolfe photography books. I like John Irving books and the Wizard of Oz.
We go back and forth with regards to music. We are game to anything & have recently enjoyed bluegrass from Steve Martin and Grizzly Bear.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Everything that I have seen is amazing to me. We are so lucky to be travellers in this beautiful world. We have sloths on our farm and they do the cutest things.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you the basic's of the almost lost language of Hehe. It's of Bantu origin and there are few elders left in Eastern Africa that speak it.
