About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Seeking new experiences, faces and places :)

ABOUT ME

What to say... I'm an open and friendly girl from England (the Lake District orignally) who loves spontaneous adventures and having excuses to show people around! I seek new shared experiences, visiting inspiring destinaions and meeting like-minded people. I am into live music, theatre, comedy, food/ drink, cooking, culture, spending quiet time getting to know people or going a little bit moe upbeat - generally open to suggestions!

PHILOSOPHY

I don't take myself too seriously 'cos life's just too short - regret is not a word that I like to use because every experience adds some value whether it's just a lesson to be learnt. I can't wait to get myself out into the wide world and want to do and see as much as I possibly can :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

couchsurfing, sharing experiences with others, hosting, showing people the sights, giving advice on hot-spots from an local insiders' point of view.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, I'm going to be off on my adventures very soon - I've got 8 months of travelling the world ahead of me and look forward to meeting some of you along the way :) and when I'm back in the UK again I would be glad to play host either in Leeds or at my parents place in Kendal, Lake District.

Interests

Travels :) Music: especially live bands.

Am a bit of an adrenalin junkie: enjoy sailing the high seas, canoing/ kayaking, running half marathons, hiking, swimming, cycling, abseiling, surfing (the one in the sea...) music festivals and concerts, art and culture.

Painting (especially nice scenery and people, although I'm not all that great at getting likenesses with faces), reading, films, socialising, fresh coffee, cool beers

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: new, old, good, bad and ugly - i love it all! Generally a bit of an indie chick at heart though and always seeking out live bands to go and see. Favourite bands include Radiohead, Jimmy Eat World, Kings of Leon, Bloc Party, Foo Fighters....

Books: I love Sebastian Faulks and Ian McEwan novels plus the classics (madame bovary, to kill a mockingbird, alice in wonderland)

Films: I think that Hitchcock and Billy Wilder movies are pure genius, Luhrmann and Tarantino also rate highly.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Playing the American/ Canadian national anthems before a big Bluejays baseball game at the Skydome in Toronto, Canada, with my school orchestra when I was 15 years old. Scary - but a phenomenal experience.

Also white water rafting down the Niagra Gorge.

Teach, Learn, Share

To Irish dance (one of my top skills) !!
Painting (although honestly I'm not great)
Go to see a band/ show
