Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
A smile can lift what a thousand hands cannot. Imagine what a hug can do!
ABOUT ME
I am the founder of smallMatters Institute, a community development organization active in Education, the Environment and Workforce Development initiatives. We also support social entrepreneurs, local art and cultural projects and back-to-nature efforts for schools and churches.
PHILOSOPHY
be kind or be silent:-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Been off the grid for a bit, spending time with adult children and their families.
Now it's time to see what is happening across America with others.
Many people live their entire lives without ever becoming complete. They live decades without understanding who they are, why they feel what they do and how to recreate a successful personal journey every day.
By completing our own destiny, we can eventually transcend self and participate fully with others.
Interests
many interests...mostly in trying to understand how things work and why
- dining
- reading
- entrepreneurship
- science
- social science
Music, Movies, and Books
like movies of all kinds except ones with very tiny sub-titles:-) and those with irrational violence. prefer happy endings (like in Die Hard or Notebook) or biographies
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i saw my children being born...a blessing of nature
i have traveled to Mexico; Canada, half of the US states and have a son who lived in Asia for a decade...so, get all of the scoop on what's happening in the Asia markets. i would like to do a world tour in this lifetime.
Teach, Learn, Share
this is a treat I enjoy - quinoa (keen-wa) is a great grain that is a complete protein...and the red is better than the white...although they are both from Bolivia...someone in Colorado is doing a black that I have not tried yet...but will...good substitute for meat...don't get hungry 20 minutes later as with pasta or rice
I have been doing an elixir of olive oil, honey and fresh lemon juice every morning before breakfast....seems to be pretty good for boosting energy.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am well read....and thoughtful of others....and, I can cook:-).
