About Me

So, a 33-year-old carbon-base lifeform that, in the last 2 years, decided to pursue a degree in Filmmaking, after spending six years in the lovely and welcoming hospitality sector. I am very open-minded and easy-going; I almost never take myself seriously, and my great skill in problem solving is sarcasm.

I react very badly to racism and any kind of discrimination, which, surprisingly, still exists in 2023.

Well, this is me; I'm not the best, I dance badly and very uncoordinatedly, but I follow the rhythm.

Synthesis is not my strongest skill.

My favourite quote:

"A mind is like a parachute. It doesn't work if it is not open.” - Frank Zappa

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I spent the previous eight years working or dealing with Mr. Covid, I'd like to spend the following eight getting in touch with people, participating in cultural exchange, and sharing food recipes, whether through travel, hosting, or meeting up. In principle, this seems like a good plan.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a very eclectic taste in music that hardly went away after the 2000s. I usually listen to the artist's full discography before I deal with myself and decide if I like it or not. At the moment, I am into Warren Zevon, Weezer, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Breeders, Human League, J.J. Cale, Roxy Music, XTC, Sparks, Idles, Blues Traveler, Fine Young Cannibals, Men At Work, Wall of Voodoo, and probably more. But let's say that my beloved ten are: The Who, The Damned, Blue Oyster Cult, Zappa & Beefhearth, everything from Stax Records, Talking Heads, Eurythmics, Patti Smith, Thin Lizzy, and Elio e le Storie Tese. Probably much more; I listen to a lot of music.

Same problem for the movies. My top directors are: Kathryn Bigelow, John Landis, John Carpenter, Ridley Scott, Kevin Smith, David Cronemberg, Lucio Fulci, Guillermo del Toro (Totoro), Peter Weir, Wes Anderson, Kim Jee-woon, and way much more.
At the present, Asian cinema is kicking ass more than ever, European cinema is surviving as always, and I don't know much about African or Middle Eastern cinema. American cinema has been steadily sinking for 25 years, but maybe if it scratches the bottom, it will resurrect.

If I have to choose an all-time favourite movie, I will go for The Blues Brothers. It gave me the passion for cinema and music since I was a little ugly boy down in boot-shape country.

I read a lot of Lovecraft, all the early twentieth-century bizarre tales, science fiction and thrillers are plentiful. I never get into fantasy; I tried when I was younger, but it's just not my thing; Nonetheless, I enjoy the sword and sorcery subgenre.

Currently, I am in the Dune saga.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, let's see: very basic guitar, very basic drawing, karaoke night, movie recommendation, but most principled food recipes.

Honestly, everything, I am a curios guy.
