About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Create positive change in the world through smiles, teaching and laughter.

ABOUT ME

I love to travel, explore and meet new people. I'm the girl that has to keeping walking just to se what's at the end of the road. My gypsy ways (as my mother calls them) were on hold, as my joy of teaching high school kids (call me crazy) usurped my vagabond tendencies and planted me in rural Alaska for several years. Cold and missing the sun, I've now made my way to Taos, New Mexico, where I share an old adobe house just blocks from the plaza, the center of town.

PHILOSOPHY

Live each day deliberately, working to shape the world as you would like it to be. Smile and laugh several times each waking hour. Sleep hard and dream well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had the blessed opportunity to stay with a family while living in Japan. They were the kindest humans ever! and gave me tremendous insight into how people are shaped by their geography and culture(s). This is just one...

Interests

Cooking, eating, biking, hiking, movies, debating, talking politics, and dancing to bluegrass music. Well, any music really. Oh, eating ice cream too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a National Geographic slut who loves Micheal Moore and international films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hanging outside the Johkang temple in Lhasa, Tibet smoking cigs with pilgrams. Giving a speech in Japanese at a UNESCO conference. Eating a chicken foot and cow tongue in the same meal.

Teach, Learn, Share

Being an Alaska addict I've been around the state. Can offer advice on where to go/not go and whats available. In particular info @ music festivals, hiking, where to get good coffee and places to stay/camp.
