CURRENT MISSION
See the world through new eyes
ABOUT ME
A vagabond American guy (Aaron) and not-your-typical Japanese girl (Nao) that are travelling as a couple around the world, trying to meet new people, bask in new experiences, and fill our bellies with new food! We're both easy going and flexible and are interested in getting to know many different types of people. Also, we both love to cook and would be happy to help cook a good meal to remember.
PHILOSOPHY
Every person has value, and it's usually worth your time to find it.
Be nice! The alternative is often easier, but far less rewarding.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Just starting to get into CS, but with great experiences so far, looking to continue and eventually host people when we are back and settled in one spot.
Interests
We both love to travel, love to cook, and thoroughly enjoy watching movies. Aaron also likes photography, snowboarding, video games, philosophy, and learning useless but fascinating trivia. We also spend our time trying to update our blog at www.2fortravel.com though we're always a bit behind.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Up (most emotional 8 minute animated sequence ever created), 12 Angry Men (It's all in one room, only talking, and it's more suspenseful than most movies you'll ever see), Lord of the Rings, Office Space, Yojimbo, Spaceballs, Top Gun, Dodgeball, Dr. Strangelove, 5th Element.
Music: Anything good from Rage Against the Machine to Manu Chao to DJ Spooky to Carmina Burana.
Books: Devil in the White City, Lord of the Rings, Slaughterhouse 5 (or pretty much anything by Vonnegut), Grapes of Wrath, Hamlet, Wheel of Time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1. Standing at the far North of New Zealand, staring at the Tasman Sea meet the Pacific Ocean. There is just something powerful at seeing these two massive bodies of water collide under a brilliant blue sky
2. Mongolian Starry Night - looking up at the night sky in Terelj National Park in Mongolia made me feel like a kid again, looking up at the sky in wonder
3. Being in Hiroshima for the 60th anniversary of the atomic bomb - It's amazing to see how much has changed in 60 years and it's deeply rewarding to know that such hate can turn into friendship with the passage of time.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Japanese language and Japanese food (Naoko is the expert). I can also show you how to juggle (poorly, but passably) - it's easier than you think.
Learn: New recipes - we both love to cook and are always looking for a great new dish.
