Overview
About Me
Living in the moment and enjoying nomadic living. I can wander for hours on rural/rocky beaches checking the pools, what washed up with the tide and enjoy swimming, snorkeling and wave surf the coast. I like to discover new places and go off the beaten track. Since we start living nomadically I’ve become more interested in sustainable and self sufficient living. I like trying out recipes that are more nutrient and healthy and grow my own food. I care for nature and try to put my energy and support in projects that are striving for a environmental friendlier future.
I used to live in a more rural part of the Netherlands with lots of water, countryside and beaches. I prefer rural places over cities. On our sailing trip we mostly anchored off in bays and live a simple life. Getting our energy of solar panels and have limited water resources. I love this way of life. In three years living on the boat and traveling with our camper I never missed our apartment. We take our cats everywhere we travel so basically home is where the cats are!
Note: we’re not locals. At the moment we're helping out a friend in Livinhac-sur-Haut and staying in a place nearby from other friends.
Please don’t send a friend request if we have never met or spoken. Also I’m not interested in dating. I’m looking for like minded people that use CS the way I do (see below).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To connect with likeminded people and get inspired by their stories.
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy all different kinds of music. I prefer live music in small venues or on the street above big concerts. For me music is about the moment, a feeling, a state of mind and therefore isn’t only about a genre. I do enjoy the standard “blockbusters” from time to time, but what inspires me and I enjoyed the most are documentaries like: Mission Blue, Fantastic Fungi, The Biggest Little Farm, Chasing Corals, My Octupus Teacher, Alive inside, Exit Through the Giftshop, EOFT/IOFT productions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Choose living nomadically
Teach, Learn, Share
We’ve been nomads now for some years and travelled through Europe with our sailboat and camper. If we’re on the boat I can teach you sailing and navigating. With the camper it’s possible to find some good beach for wave surfing. I also love to snorkel and make hikes.
Onboard we live very minimalistic. Through this lifestyle I became very aware of my footprint so we live as sustainable as we can and with mostly organic products. Erik is into art and cooking, so be prepared to have some serious good food.
