About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make it to california

ABOUT ME

One of three good friends traveling The States for 4 months. I'm just turned 22, the others both 23. We're all pretty laid back but certainly know how to have a laugh. We've spent a good portion of our time drunk or drinking on this trip, but don't let that put you off, we are just as amicable sober (I think?).

PHILOSOPHY

Do enough stuff before I get too old and incompetent to do it. Meet enough great people before I get too old and incontinent to be socially acceptable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently just a surfer but I will be sure to host once I get back home. I only found out about CS halfway through the trip, hence the rather small profile and the fact that only I have an account representing the 3 of us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are officially on our 3rd couchsurf, though we've met a bunch of other couchsurfers via other local couchsurfers and so have probably stayed with about 5 or 6 hosts. So far it's been absolutely amazing and I speak for all 3 of us when I say we haven't had a bad experience. Everyone who's hosted us have been, fun, friendly, hospitable and accommodating. What more can I ask for?

Interests

Well, as we're essentially tourists (ergh, I hate saying that), we are certainly interested in seeing the real America and exploring the many landmarks, attractions and points of interest in the local area. However, a more honest review of the trip so far (10 weeks in), would reveal us to be 3 boozing Brits who will go wherever the party and people reside. Apart from all the partying and sightseeing, we spend a lot of time just chilling, writing our journals and playing music. We are all musicians of varying degree, so music is a good part of our travels.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh god. Again, on behalf of all of us I will have a quick brainstorm and splurge as much as I can think about our collective preferences, but I warn, it will be random-:
movies, TV: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Prestige, Avatar, Wall-e, Lord of the Rings, Monty Python, Borat, Snatch, Star Wars, Anchorman, Family Guy, South Park, Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy...
Music: Johnny Cash, Elvis, The Beatles, CCR, Steppenwolf, Oasis, R.E.M, The Eagles, Dire Straits, Stevie Wonder, B.B King, The Script, John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jeff Buckley, Minus The Bear, RHCP, Blink 182, Motorhead...
Books: LOTR, The Firm, C.C Humphreys, Richard Dawkins, The Island of Dr. Moreau, All Creatures Great and Small, John Grisham and many many more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Been half way across the u.s and still got the other half to go! I've lived in quite a few places in Europe throughout my life, including Vienna, Bern, Copenhagen, Carcassonne, to name a good few. I can't really think of any specific thing that sticks out right now i'm afraid. Ask me when we meet ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

If you live in a van, avoid parking up for the night anywhere within half a mile of a train line. The horns will wake you and haunt you for years to come!
