ABOUT ME

I came to Australia in 1989 and love it here. I travel back to the US yearly and try to get to other places on the way! I'm friendly, warm, generous and love both a good conversation and my own quiet time. I love to laugh, though not at others' expense. I like the big and the little questions.

I'm not really into partying so much anymore. I don't really drink much, but will every once in a while. I'm not a purist about much.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed with Couch surfing hosts in Colorado and Israel and loved it. A couch surfer showed me around Turkey, great. I have hosted only once and that was really great too.

Centres d'intérêt

People fascinate me, for all the good and bad reasons, I love the complexity! I love visiting new places. I spend my time, here at home, working with community, meditating (not as much as i could!), walking, seeing live theatre or films, reading, laughing with friends.

I'm really interested in the environment, living sustainably and making as light a foot print as possible. Though this is very difficult whilst getting in planes and flying all over the world. I'm also interested in social justice and believe that a society can be judged by how it treats the most disadvantaged in a community.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

The Hummingbird's Daughter, The Education of Little Tree, anything by Alice Walker, Amy Tan or Aruna Roy. Like fiction and non fiction, the ridiculous and not so. Movies....Margaret, Life as a House, Living Out Loud, Bran Nue Dae. I tend to forget titles of books and films nearly as fast as i've seen/read them!!

I love music. Beth Orton, Laura Marling, Laura Veirs, Leonard Cohen, Paul Kelly, Crowded House, The Smiths, REM, Gotye, PJ Harvey, The Orbweavers, Sufjan Stephens, Tin Pan Orange....quite a bit of latin and middle eastern tunes. Not so much into classical, unless it's live!

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

In Costa Rica I sailed above the tree tops on a flying fox type of contraption, shit scared, but did it anyway!! So much leaves me awestruck, it's hard to pick, I love beauty.
