the current mission of this group member is to start communication and coopertion with traveling artists and musicians from all over the world, providing them with residency and workgrounds in St. Petersburg

ABOUT ME

36.6 WAS an artist-operated 36 and 6 square meter room at TS Mesto("locus" in Russian), a 12-story building on the Basil (Vasilyevskiy) island in St. Petersburg with a fantastic view over the entire city. AS OF TODAY, 16 AUGUST 2011, TS MESTO IS CLOSED DOWN AND ALL ARTISTS HAVE MOVED OYT. h o w e v e r, a small collective of artists has moved to a different location on Smolenka river, not so far from there. Our organization officially retains the name MESTO, as it was registered as a company by us. RIGHT NOW WE ARE RENOVATING THE NEW PLACE and it is a big mess. IF YOU WANT TO HELP, you are welcome and we will think of something to find you a place to stay (maybe in a different place, such as friends apartments etc). PLEASE DO NOT write us if are just looking for a place to crash for a night or two. BUT, if you want to take part actively, DO WRITE US! ESPECIALLY, if of artistic incline.

A BIT OF HISTORY: 8 of the 12 floors of MESTO w e r e occupied with creative people of all kinds - from theater to dance to music to art - who reside and work there. The 36.6 space [regularly showing films and featuring masterclasses by "locals" on French, German, Ableton live programming etc.] provided visiting artists and musicians or creative people of any sort with an unlimited residency, with the goal for them to create a production, a piece, an exhibition or what not on the territory of TS Mesto, which - by the way - used to be a huge factory: you will love its industrial creepy and romantic aura!))) WE WILL CONTINUE IN THE SAME SPIRIT ONCE THE RENOVATION IS COMPLETED IN THE NEW SPACE. We will also do A FOOD CLUB and CONCERTS, as well as EXHIBITIONS and SCREENINGS and talks.

we provide hospitality to creative travelers, including bed and breakfast, internet, and opportunity to meet lots of like minded people here in St.Petersburg. our long term goal is creating a network of artists for extensive future communication and intercultural exchange and multilog.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
