Overview
About Me
I'm open-minded, trusting, and non-judgmental. I believe in respecting others until they give me a reason not to. Seeking balance and simplicity is my way of life. I enjoy the company of others but also value my solitary moments when I can keep to myself.
True, I may be one of those people for whom normal is a failure of potential, where the status quo isn't a goal but an obstacle... and I do believe the most harmful addictions are in fact carbohydrates and… a monthly salary, chaining us to routines choking our true capabilities. But… I'm not a thrill seeker; adrenaline rushes are definitely not my calling and instead, I take time to recognise and appreciate the beauty in this world around me, finding refuge in the quiet, valuing small pleasures. In any case, there's really only one of each of us in the world, and that's more than good enough, so we should all be unapologetically ourselves :)
Some would say I'm health-conscious; I neither smoke nor drink, choosing a clean and healthy lifestyle.
Being a minimalist by nature allows me to appreciate the world without the burdens of unnecessary material possessions - everything I own fits into a single 40L backpack, weighing about 15KG, and totaling around 150 carefully chosen items. To be able to just get up and in about 5min be ready to leave to “wherever” with literally everything I own… I find it very liberating.
I love to travel. It begins where my comfort zone ends. Helps me grow. Puts things in perspective. Keeps me modest. Makes me experience everyday things as if for the first time. Gives me a sense of freedom ... and I'm always excited to meet other adventurers and free spirits who share my love for breaking away from the ordinary.
Philosophy?
Perhaps an ant on the move does more than a dozing ox and then again perhaps doing nothing is sometimes better than doing something... In either case, good judgement comes from experience and a lot of that comes from bad judgement… and usually the more you give the more you have… Time is by far our most precious commodity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I find myself on a quest to discover a place I would genuinely enjoy and expand my circle of friends in the process, build connections for future travel. A new adventure’s afoot as I prepare to embark on a journey encompassing over 30 thoughtfully selected global destinations, a voyage that will span almost a year. Naturally, I’m seeking and would wholeheartedly welcome any assistance that others may be willing to offer, and I hold hopeful expectations that this community will present new opportunities.

Music, Movies, and Books
I've never managed to develop any favourites, but I certainly have preferences. I lean towards classical music rather than popular, with a preference for violin over piano, and I'm particularly drawn to soundtrack themes. I do enjoy a good film, perhaps a bit too often :). However, I'm not a fan of mindless action or "men and women in tights," a.k.a. superheroes. I also appreciate a well-crafted TV show, especially when there's more of it than just a single season's worth :). I can't recall the last time I read a complete book, and generally, I align more with Tao Te Ching than with Harry Potter.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lost 25kg in less than a year.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to make a great fermented beetroot juice!
Would love to learn to drive a car and ride a motorbike… but I should learn about designing web applications… hahaha
More than happy to share my knowledge of intraday trading, minimalistic living and travel.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Currently I'm focusing on growing my knowledge and skills in the space of financial markets, training to become an intraday trader and putting that to test as an independent form of portable income and I'm happy to share my experiences this far. Other than that, I do possess a wealth of empirical knowledge across a wide range of topics. Alongside my creativity and open-mindedness, honesty is a trait that defines me. If you seek unbiased advice, I'm the person to turn to.
