Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Marek in bratislava took me biking and dumpster diving after a sweet cs event downtown.
I walked with an australian named Rhea for a good while on the Camino de Santiago, we grew super close.
I met two girls Marta and Ania in the bathroom of a train station in Saarbruken and then stayed with Ania at her house in Krakow. She took me biking around the city at night and we went to a bar and didnt go to any museums.
I stayed with the wonderful Anna in Berlin with her husband, two kids and two roommates, they were all so awesome.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Adaptation, Life of Pi, Adventureland, anything that really messes with your mind.

Books: Count of Monte Cristo, Blindsight, Ready Player One: Hard SciFi, classics, nonfiction occasionally.

Music: Electronic (The Knife, The Notwist, Aphex Twin), Indie Rock-pop stuff (Radiohead, Broken Bells, Typhoon, Alabama Shakes, Dinosaur Jr), angsty stuff (Shakey Graves, Modern Baseball, American Football, Mountain Goats), pop (Kelela, Hiatus Kaiyote, Real Estate).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sailed through the Caribbean and through Europe with my family for a year. That kind of inspired my love of travel. Also staring off the edge of the earth at finisterre after my 600 km walk was pretty great. Spent the next three months taking trains around europe, saw some of the greatest cities the world has made yet, and some of the most beautiful scenery (I'm looking at you, lauterbrunnen)

Teach, Learn, Share

Can teach: meditation, software engineering, about climate change, yoga, salsa, crazy views on brains, society, economics etc gleaned from books and twitter mostly :)

I recently did a 10 day silent retreat and I can try to teach you what I learned on that.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love cooking and cleaning, can help with techy stuff maybe, will buy food / wine for you if we go out.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Costa Rica, France, Mexico, Portugal, Spain
