About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Follow my heart's desire.
ABOUT ME
Recently purchased a house with some friends in Texas.
Last year lived as a language assistant in France.
In Buenos Aires I became a certified masseur.
I have a plan to be absolutely ripped in five years, and work out fairly often. But then again, five years ago I had a plan to master ancient Greek... I bet you can guess how that turned out.
I read. A lot.
My housemates and I kept chickens this past year. One recently froze under my care. Lesson: I'm not so good with chickens. We also had a greenhouse; I ate the lettuce from it.
Drinking port in the bathtub sounds like a good evening to me.
The two most beautiful places in the world: the Oregon coast and Lago de Atitlan in Guatemala.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've hosted and surfed and helped host and given advice on forums, and asked for advice there. I participate electronically and in person, the most important part, right?
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's been wonderful, my experience. One friend compared CouchSurfing to a kind of spiritual path, saying that visiting people, getting to know them so closely was a sure way to make him into a better person. I'm not sure I would go as far as that, but I would say that it does help to connect minds or spirits by bringing the bodies of people together.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have lived as a temporary guest in two intentional communities where everyone shares their possessions.
Teach, Learn, Share
People's stories, what they've been through and seen, are generally the things that interest me the most about them: their education and manner of speech, their hobbies and their home lives. But I'm also ready to listen to discourses about cooking healthily or the finer points of Tibetan religious practice or any such thing if the person knows more than I do about it, which is often the case.
