CURRENT MISSION

It occured to me three days ago that although our lives are pretty great and we are extremely lucky to have jobs that give us freedom to travel and do as we please for the most part that we could be doing so much more and having a lot more fun!

ABOUT ME

We live in Cary, NC (right outside of raleigh) for 7 months of the year, from May to Xmas basically. After Xmas we head out to Salt Lake City Utah and really start living. I love to ski, it's a goal of mine to get 100 days in this year. I've come close a few times (92 one season) but have yet to get over that triple digit hurdle. We ski LCC (little cottonwood canyon)alternating between Alta and Snowbird.

We grew up in PA so we are Steeler fans. I'm trying to see a football game in every NFL stadium. Last year I made it to Pittsburgh, Washington, New York, Philly, Jacksonville, Detroit and Cleveland. This year we are going to San Francisco and Oakland over opening weekend. Ali honestly really couldn't care less about the football games but is FIRED UP about seeing San Francisco! I do like to go out and have a good time although my rhythmically challenged ass will never get on a dance floor. I know, I know....but I'm black I have to love to dance right? Not exactly! House of tolerance visit for you my friend. Anyhow, I'm pretty much up for anything and am super excited about this website. How I never knew about it until 3 days ago I have no idea, but then again Craigslist was totally new to me until three years ago too. Wow...basically I'm just completely out of all the cool internet sites loop. What's that you ask, do I have a myspace page? Nope, sure don't. Told you...TOTALLY out of the cool internet site loop.

Ali:
I need those girls nights out, shopping trips, going out to eat, drinking martinis or coffee, mani/pedis or just sharing some bullshit story that I need to get off my chest. I like to go out drinking but am not a beer drinker! I know, its a flaw. I wish I liked it but I'm a vodka girl! Redbull and Vodka PLEASE! I'm up for anything and I will try anything once. I LOVE to travel, by car or plane. (In april I went on a road trip where we started off in Salt Lake City then to Vegas, San Diego, Grand Canyon, Dallas TX, New Orleans, PA then back to NC. Whew, that was a lot of driving!) This september I'm making my first trip to San Fancisco which I am INSANELY excited about! I'm corny and can't help it. I curse like a sailor and spend my winters skiing in Salt Lake City UT (Dec-mid April). I'm athletic and enjoy the outdoors unless its hot as shit then I'd prefer the indoors! I will admit my love for food is strong and I wish I could cook... better. I do cook but its sub par which allows for many nights of us going out to eat and throwing money down the toilet. I went to college for 2 years, it wasn't for me, then went to school to be a massage therapist... injured my thumb, which ended that and am now LOOKING at going back to school. Possibly : ) I'm girly but I can burp with the best of them. I have a cat who thinks he's a dog that my neighbors try to steal. Basically I'm pretty much up for anything, let's try this thing out!

PHILOSOPHY

Live your life to the fullest, don't ever do it because somebody thinks your idea is stupid because you know what...the idea probably is stupid but so what?!? It's YOUR IDEA!

It's most important to be real, be honest and upfront. LYING SUCKS, especially lies about things that nobody cares about. Stop trying to impress others by buying shit you don't need to impress people you don't like!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

When I was 24 I took my first trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. I ended up storing my bags downtown at a fire station and mingling around the city. I met several incredible hosts, none of whose names I can remember :(. I guess that was my first introduction to cs. No place to stay and completely not worried about where I'd end up. That to this day remains my favorite trip that I've ever taken by myself without Ali.
