About Me

I exist.

In 2013 I left my job at STA Travel after they started caring more about money than their clients. Started my own travel agency to focus on the traveler. Then decided it was time to step it up, and in 2014 I moved to Koh Samui, Thailand and bought a small hostel. We became famous for being social, casual and hard-partying. So we quadrupled in size, and then took over a bar and hostel in Koh Phangan, which we tripled in size too! Now I work all the time, but living the dream, and meeting the coolest travelers all the time!

Always joking, always laughing, always down for an adventure. Very friendly and social, but more shy than you might think. I love traveling and meeting new people and learning about the world around me wherever I go.

I'm obsessed with monkeys.

I love meat - I'll eat a steak no matter how full I am, and I'll eat bacon in ANYTHING!

I'm a weirdo, but I'm told it's in a fun, endearing and non-threatening way.

I love music and have a huge collection and years of radio and music industry experience. I mix mashup CDs and occasionally DJ live if someone gets me drunk enough to agree to it!

I love going out and partying, drinking, socializing. Somehow I love that scene even though I'm a terrible dancer and I've never done a drug in my life. Go figure.

I like to talk to people. Tell me your story. Please.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started out thinking it'd be cool to host people from around the world. I hosted a few and always had great experiences. I also used Couchsurfing to ask questions to locals when traveling, even if I was staying in hostels or hotels. It's an amazing resource for friendly locals you can grill before arriving in their city! I even stumbled into local travel agents in Myanmar by random Couchsurfing messaging! I've only actually surfed once, and the experience was great!

Now, I'm in a precarious position that couchsurfing actually hurts my business. BUT, I got into this business because I believe in travel and all its benefits. So, even if it hurts my businesses in the small sense, encouraging everyone to travel makes the world the better place to operate my businesses in! :)

Interests

Travel, music, words, socializing, drinks, monkeys, crosswords, twisted humour. or, hm.. anything else you suggest.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I seem to be an expert at finding random adventure when I travel. From flipping a jet-ski in the Philippines to the nightclub drug raid in Malaysia to the police investigation in London to hang gliding in Rio to nearly missing the boat off Castaway Island (where they filmed the movie Castaway) and getting stranded in Fiji, to riot police in Poland to nearly falling off the Alps in Switzerland... Everything's AMAZING! :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A ridiculous amount of ridiculous stories. Willingness to get into any adventure. Help with any travel advice from a "professional"? :)
