About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find my happy place. :-)

ABOUT ME

I'm half German and half American- a US citizen, but home is Germany, where I was born and raised. I have held a number of different jobs: I'm a military veteran, have worked for DOD and DOS as a contractor and a government employee, and I also worked at a junkyard for over 1.5 years (the greatest job ever!). I love diverse experiences and continue to strive towards finding my dream job.

I'm generally optimistic and happy-go-lucky.

Please look me up on Facebook... tons of pictures there! :-)

PHILOSOPHY

Life is awesome!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't been able to host because I've not lived in my own place (or been in one spot for very long)- but I've been fortunate to have been able to stay with wonderful people in a number of different locations.

I love it when a host becomes a beloved friend who I look forward to hanging out with again. :-)

Interests

TRAVELING!! Meeting and hanging out with people, spending time with animals, listening to music, enjoying life in general.

Music, Movies, and Books

Mostly rock (especially 80s); also love country and techno.

Like some R&B/rap, but not too too much.

I really enjoy reading. I like all different genres, but particularly fancy fiction and sci-fi.

My fave book is Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Too many to list!
Some examples: taken the Transsiberian Railway from Moscow to Vladivostok; overlanded from Lhasa, Tibet, to Nepal via Mt Everest Base Camp; climbed Ayer's Rock; swam in the bio-luminescent Mosquito Bay; seen the Terracotta Warriors and Great Wall of China, Stonehenge, the Sphynx and Great Pyramids, Petra, Grand Canyon; floated on the Dead Sea; snorkeled at the Great Barrier Reef; walked on the incredible Salt Flats of Uyuni; took a boat ride "under" the falls of Iguazu; climbed Wayna Picchu at Machu Picchu; run with the bulls in Pamplona, participated in La Tomatina, partied at the Full Moon Party on Kho Phangnan, bungee jumped at Vic Falls between Zimbabwe and Zambia, strolled around the temples of Angkor in Cambodia, looked down upon Blue Eye in Albania, warmed myself at the "Gate to Hell" in Turkmenistan, flown in a helo over the Blue Hole in Belize, experienced the crab migration on Christmas Island, raced ostriches in Arizona, swum with jellyfish in Palau...

I've been to about 170 countries and territories on all 7 continents.

Teach, Learn, Share

No matter where in the world you go, most people are kind, generous, helpful, and friendly.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a considerate and easygoing (albeit quirky) person who truly likes making new friends; I could tell many stories, but I really enjoy listening to *your* stories.

:-)
