ABOUT ME

I'm Kathryn. I grew up in a small town called Eagle in the southeastern part of Wisconsin and I've always known that I've wanted to explore and travel. Out of everyone else in my family I definitely got the travel bug. I went to college at Marquette University and while I was there I was able to travel a lot. I had a summer internship in Dublin, Ireland working in the marketing department of a company. Then my junior year I studied abroad in Lille, France first semester and Lyon, France second semester. So when I was there I traveled all over Europe, including Spain, Belgium, England, Luxembourg, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. One of my favorite cities in Europe is Barcelona - I would love to live there someday. I also am pretty fluent in French and I enjoy speaking it whenever I get the chance. I would also like to learn Spanish. I am hoping to be going back to school this Spring to get my masters in French and maybe my teaching license as well. Another random tidbit about me is that I was an intern at the White House in the summer of 2008. That was a great experience, and I love Washington DC.

PHILOSOPHY

I love this quote by Oscar Wilde: "To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.” It gets me motivated to really live my life the way I'd like and to push myself to do things that I might not have done.

I would like to try out Couch Surfing since I've never done it before.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never couch-surfed before but I've always wanted to try it. I think it would be neat to meet new people while traveling.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went and built a house in Los Andes, Chile with Habitat for Humanity for 2 weeks. It was an amazing experience to see first hand how much they needed the help and then to be able to help them.
