To smile at life every day, aiming to find happiness in the beauty of small things

ABOUT ME

Hello everyone!

My personal idea is that meet face to face is the best way to get to know someone else, moreover I think that nobody is very good at writing about themselves: some people are too shy, some people go over the top, some people are scared about writing something wrong and some people simply don't want to share too much about themselves on the Internet. Anyway I will try to write something about myself just to give you an idea of who I am and what I like and dislike.

I was born in 1988 in the nice city of Padova (North-East of Italy) and even though a lot of CSers I have hosted have told me that I don't seem Italian I have to say that even the roots of my family-tree are in the Italian ground (or maybe my family lied to me for all of my life and they adopted me). I lived first with my parents, then with my grandparents in the suburbs of the city and finally in August 2009 I moved into a house in the center of Padova (where I lived with 3 friends) and after a few months, as soon as I had the chance to host someone, in April 2010 I joined the CS community and now I couldn't be happier for having done it.

After a lot of experiences in both hosting and being hosted, my time in Padova came to an end and I moved to Strasbourg (France) where I had an amazing year full of nice experiences, mostly because I had the chance of meeting people from all over the world and to fully live an international experience.

This period came as well, alas, with an end and soon I was back in Padova, back to my grandparents' house. Obviously this would have not lasted for long and a few months later I was already relocated in another country, this time in central Europe; in Budapest, Hungary. What had to be a three months period is now lasting for more than 3 years. There I found Love, and stability and I am now living in a place I call home.

I consider myself a quiet and down-to-earth guy, who is pretending to act rationally the most of the time (sometimes I do irrational things but then who doesn't?) and with whom it is very easy to get along (at least I hope).

PHILOSOPHY

The world is sad. It is a stage for a huge number of conflicts, from big wars to stupid quarrels, and when one ends sadness remains on both sides. Pollution increases recklessly every day, the planet can no longer resist and weather conditions that are getting worse day by day are strong evidence of this.

People who live in this world full of scars are mostly sad. Some of them are sad for the conditions of the planet (unfortunately not as many as the planet deserves); some of them for their work or lack of it; some of them for sentimental issues and some of them because they have not yet found their own place in this world. Some of these people simply continue living aimlessly, without a goal, simply waiting for something to happen in their lives without fighting for it, mostly living a life of waiting in vain.

I was sad, I'm still sad but getting better, that's because I discovered that nobody can deal with certain problems alone, happiness is something to be pursued together. Meet new people, share something with them, simply have the opportunity to be able to interact with someone else from a different reality of this colorful world - these are the best possible remedies for your soul.

This is why I love CS. It is a tremendous tool to bring happiness to the world!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

A friend of mine, my former roommate Alberto, introduced me to this topic and I thought immediately that CS was a good way to meet new people from different countries and to make new friends, moreover I thought (of course) that was a cheaper way to travel around the world. Later though, after a lot of very positive experiences, I managed to realize that I was wrong: CS is not good, or better said it is not only good, it is something huge, it is fantastic.
When someone was surfing my couch I always tried to give him/her 100% of me, this because I believe in this project so much, I wanted to do the best I can. I have to say that CS has given me a lot, it allowed me to meet a lot of very interesting people and to widen my perspectives.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

These are the lists of all the great CS experiences I had, I'm writing them because I like to be methodical and thorough. If you are reading my profile because you are thinking to be hosted or because I sent you a CouchRequest, you will probably end within these lists. I want to warn you: I do not just want to add another number here, this will come later as a consequence, the thing I really care about is to have a great CS experience. All the numbers in these lists mean something to me, they make me think about all the fantastic people I knew, about the great time we had together, about the things we shared and about how much I love this project. If you are searching for a “free hostel” I am not the right person to write to, if instead we are sharing the same thoughts over CS don't hesitate, write me.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

When I was younger I loved thunderstorms, I thought they were an extraordinary example of the power of nature and I used to sit on the windows watching the lightning bolts. Once, while I was in Tuscany on vacation, I was sitting at a window watching a thunderstorm. Suddenly, a lightning bolt hit an electric pole that was one meter away from my window and at the same height. I really thought that I was going to die. Now, as you can imagine, I'm a little scared of thunderstorms and (even if people usually say that lightning never strikes twice in the same place) if we are going to hang out together during a thunderstorm, I suggest you not to stay too close to me.

As for my travels, they actually are unfortunately not too many, I have to say that the most impressive thing I have seen is the Cañón del Sumidero in Chiapas, Mexico. It's amazing! I had a boat tour in that river and the tourist guide stopped the boat near the bank to tell us something about the place. After a few minutes we discovered that behind us there were two crocodiles that were camouflaged in the rocks. We bolted away and after, when we finished our tour, another guide told us that it was a common joke with European tourists. I still hate that guide.
