About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet loads of interesting new people. Develop myself personally. Create new opportunities. Do what I love. Get out and run more. Spend more time running a in the fresh air. Catch up with friends.

ABOUT ME

I have not been to any meetings in a while but want to start working on developing my language skills for a start. I am a tenacious and determined guy with a cheeky sense of humor raised in Leixlip in Kildare. I like simple things in life and would not consider myself flashy. I like to get the job done, but am not big on personal fan fair.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I mostly come to the monthly meeting and have been to a few dinners. My calender is starting to free up so I expect to be at more event. These would include picnics, language exchange an well anything that take my fancy.

One of these day I will take the walking tour so I can better talk to visitors about things to do in Dublin.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I get involved where ever I go. I am always willing to try new things and talk about more or less anything.

Interests

I am interested in getting to know new people on a personal level. I want to learn about different culture and to challenge myself. I would love to try some new things. I can be a little bit spontaneous so if you have a crazy idea, I just might be up for it. I am interested in social justice and a more equitable society and have been an active in the charity sector.

Music, Movies, and Books

My music taste is really really eclectic I listen to most types depending on who I am with.
I like all kinds of music, I would listen to mostly anything, Alanis Morisette, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, Amy Winehouse, The Doors, Blur, Radiohead.
My reading is a little haphazard and tend to be a little academic. :P

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visit Niagra Fall, face to face with a colossal waterfall was breathtaking. Apart from that all the rest of my travelling has been in Europe. In Santiago De Conpostelo I saw some amazing churches and altars. the architecture in Prague is absolutely amazing the astronomical clock. Hope I spell this right but really enjoyed visiting suomenlinna a fortified island off helsinki. I visited it in winter and it was spectacular well worth a visit.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I don't have alot to contribute right now as in term of imparting person wisdom but I am truly inspired by the free exchange of information and educational resources by learning provider and sponsor and pioneer for example Khan Academy.
I have not hyperlinked it here because I am not sure if it is allowed. It has over 3000 videos, mostly by one individual, "Salman Khan".
Since my original post it has been expanded and now has resources from additional tutors and external providers.
It is a free learning resource that cover a wealth of topics mostly mathematics, and the sciences. I won't say any more but I am extremely grateful to the person who recommended it to me. It has been a god send.
I have been lucky to receive some support and recommend resources during my studies which I may compile here.
