About Me

CURRENT MISSION

going to study in passau, germany

ABOUT ME

'Das Leben meistert man lächelnd, oder überhaupt nicht.'

'You can master your life either smiling or not at all'
chinese proverb

I consider myself being open-minded, friendly and generally happy. I like to laugh with other people, having fun and enjoy life. But I also enjoy real discussions about nearly every subject. I grew up in a little city in northern Germany, near to Hamburg.

I worked for 3 month in a youth hostel and about one year in a hospital as community service. I really enjoyed this time, although it was also hard work, and learned a lot (also about myself) at this time.

Since 2009 I'm studying "International Cultural and Business Studies" in Passau, Germany. Right now I'm living in France, passing my Erasmus-year at Angers to improve my language skills and also to get to know the French culture =)

I love new cultures and languages, my studies were first concentrated on the South-East-Asian room, but I changed later (for the language) to the French-speaking room. Still interested in Asian cultures & languages though! :) Next project will be to improve my English & Swedish.

PHILOSOPHY

"When the winds of change are blowing, some people are building shelters and others are building windmills"

My most loved quote, always try to act like the wind millers ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the idea & spirit of cs and want to support it!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfed in Passau while seaching for a cohabitation - and met really nice people who gave me an interesting first impression of this city.

Also like to casually meet up with other couchsurfers to share experiences or just have a nice talk.

Interests

I love my sports, seven star mantis kung fu kung fu and handball as goalkeeper, as well as inline-skating, running, working out, Tai Chi, fitness and almost any other sport - I just love it to be outside for sports. And even better is to explore a little bit the world around myself by skates or by running :)

I love to meet new people, learning new languages, sharing experiences, getting to know other cultures

Music is also important for me, I'm not playing any instrument or in a group, but I love listening to all kind of music, especially alternative rock music, but also ska, reggae, metal, hiphop - it just depends on my mood.

I love traveling, whether by bike, train or whatever

Besides, I also like watching movies and reading books, it's always a nice way to improve the own language skills - and it's fun! :) So if you ever have a tip for a awesome movie/book to watch/read, I'll be happy to hear it!

I'm really interested in other languages and cultures, even tried to learn Chinese, but that was a little bit hard. Right now I'm focusing on my French & English, but also started to learn Swedish a few weeks ago. I just hope to better get to know the different cultures around the world and to see the most of our world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love alternative rock music, but also ska + reggae groups, it's always giving me a lovely moment of relaxation :) I'm also listening to metal and hip-hop music, but it's always depending on my own mood.

I also like to read books and watch movies, not only for fun, but also for learning a little bit other languages. Most loved books are the Lord of the Ring trilogy and some historic romans, such as "the pillars of the earth".

Teach, Learn, Share

teach.
would love to be taught in Chinese or sports,
can teach some German and how to cook delicious noodles without any meat. Also know how to repair computers.
learn.
I'm open-minded and love to learn new languages/getting to know other cultures.

share.
my experiences from working in a hospital, my travels (although they're not that special ;), my life in France/Germany, also love political discussions (but only when somebody's in the mood for it!)

Also can share my chewing gums, as I always have some with me...
