About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be truly alive, creating each new day as it comes, manifesting into my own reality my true heart and mind. As I am that I will be. Aligning my dreams with the dreams of the Universe for itself, for the healing of humanity. And having a damn fine time!

ABOUT ME

I like learning about what is going on in the "real" world in the streets and behind closed doors in all cultures across the world. I challenge myself to learn all I find I need to know, but I especially challenge myself to learn about my own interests. I'm hell bent on self-improvement and personal growth, and when I'm ready to tackle a goal I do so with unwavering relentlessness. I am fond of balance and moderation, but I also believe that some things should be extreme. I've got grandiose ideals and grandiose plans, and I know that I'm going to live a very full life. I'm a sucker for emotional music. I'm a sucker for animals who need love and care, and for people who need love and care. I love kids. Kids start off so open and eager and without self-consciousness; and one day I want them to be a big part of my life (mine own kids or otherwise). I relate compassionately with all people, and know and love a great deal of humans; however, I relate deeply with few people. To those whom I let close, I am eternally loyal and devoted. For all my reserve, I have a profound interest in people, and welcome all new acquaintances with open arms. Chances to share and learn are invaluable to me. I don't like to be in big crowds with much frequency, but I like a good, well-done party every now and again. I like going out alone a lot. When I'm alone I feel freer to follow my whims. I like my freedom. But, of course, I'd love to take you out and about with me.

PHILOSOPHY

Rule number 1: Love wholeheartedly and openly at all times, and in this state of grace give no place in your mind to thoughts of anxiety, worry, or fear.

Rule number 2: Surrender control to God/the Universe and trust absolutely in His/Her/Its perfect ability to guide, provide, and tend to the needs of the trusting.

Live life with conviction. Question those convictions regularly. Live courageously, letting fear motivate you only to become stronger in yourself. Evaluate yourself regularly: your values, your responses, your desires, motivations, passions, fears, impulses, goals, etc. Regard others with compassion and love. Question others' logic before conceding to or challenging it. Seek quality in everything, from the things you do, to the things you enjoy, to the people you let close. Love openly and passionately. Trust someone, and learn how to trust more. Enjoy yourself, your own presence, your own thoughts. Obey your inner voice, your true self and your conscience. Consider what others think of you, but do not live in fear of it or surrender what's true about you to please others. Truly discipline yourself, so that you might truly work, truly relax, and truly live. Be honest in all things, with everyone, always, this includes yourself. Live true to your values and revelations, and stay open to the inevitability that those values will continually develop, or even sometimes fade away. Seek truth, but make friends with the mystery. Seek wisdom, but do not think you've obtained it. Listen, hear, seek, see, and above all things surrender to love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate by being available to couchsurfers everywhere because I believe in the concept. I am not involved in helping in any administrative way, but by being a willing and reputable host I think the credibility of the website is helped. I think that this website is an awesome facilitator for connecting folks around the world and for making the ease of
travel and world experience better for people of all walks of life. Much appreciation.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted everyone on the planet, and now I'm beginning to use the services for the first time this year.

Interests

I like brainstorming brilliant ideas. I like being a smarty-pants when I can be. I love learning, and I get immense fulfillment out of helping others to do so. I like thinking probably more than anything in the world. I sit and stare off and wonder. I enjoy reading, watching movies, meeting people, and having experiences that add new dimensions to the way I view the world. I'm passionate about my faith in God, but I am conscientious about not imposing the fact on other people. I do not appreciate judgement and prejudice, but am understanding of their place in our minds, and will not easily take offense when caught on the receiving end of them. I'm interested in excellence and quality. I like cooking decadently and eating that way as often as I can. I like finding new places of interest: a thriftstore to which I've never been, a swanky new cafe, an old alley I'd never noticed, especially those with intelligent graffiti. I like water; I like swimming in it, looking at it, and seeing how long I can hold my breath under it. Oh, yeah, and drinking it!! I like sensual pleasures like stolen kisses, chocolate dipped in rich coffee, cold water on hot finger tips, hot water on cold finger tips, wind on bare skin, a buzz from a sweet cigarette, or the burn of a sunrise in your eyes after a sleepless night. I like music, both listening to it and making it. I like the sounds and sensations of big cities. I love adventure and a little harmless mischief. I love being lazy. I love being inspired. I love the feeling of loving something. I love being known intimately, and subsequently adored. My newest interest is in growing food, and spreading awareness about a food revolution. I love the thought that one day I might fly, and try to live every day in the reality that I'm meant to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was four I saw an dark spirit/being in my bedroom. At four I also saw my Mom ruthlessly dragged from a moving car, causing her ankle to get mangled under the wheel (I was in the backseat). When I was five I nearly drowned in the ocean, but my 8 year old sister saved me. By the time I was 8 I'd lived in 15 different cities. When I was 10 I won the bronze medal for earth sciences in the state science fair. When I was fifteen I played gigs as the lead singer of a christian rock band. When I was 16 I was the manager of a restaurant. By 18 I had successfully evaded 2 marriage proposals. When I was 20 I got caught in a moroccan drug deal, sunbathed in the swiss alps, and dove naked in the middle of the night into the Mediterranean. When I was 22 I did a segment on a reality TV show (what was I thinking?). At 23 I started a lounge-singing act. At 24 I opened up a clothing store. I know I was just supposed to write about one thing... ;)
