About Me

In short, I love to learn. I'm always eager to go new places, explore, meet new people, and do and see new things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couch surfing is a great way to experience a place rather than being surrounded by familiarity in a hotel setting. It opens the opportunity to see and do awesome things you wouldn't have done if you didn't have a local person guiding you. And it's a great way to meet new people at home and abroad.

Interests

I love doing things outdoors (hiking, exploring, etc.). I love exploring and seeing new things, whether it be at home or abroad. I love all kind of art and music, although super abstract, modern art and heavy metal music typically mark my limits on what I will enjoy. I'm a history student so naturally I love history and enjoy seeing and wandering about historical landmarks and areas of all kinds. Although these are some of my favorite things I'm generally an open person and enjoy all types of activities.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love complex fantasy and sci-fi books. By far my favorite book is "Shades of Gray" by Jasper FForde (not to be confused with 50 Shades of Grey). It takes place in a distopian world where color rules peoples lives. All people see one color and are strictly ranked in society by which color they see. There are a lot of laws and rules that structure the lives of the people in this universe but as you find that doesn't necessarily have to be the case...

I love all kinds of movies but the movies I can watch endlessly are:
O' Brother Where Art Thou
- Cohen brother's modern rendition of "The Odyssey" (As a history major of course this made the list)

Jurassic Park (because of nostalgia)

The Big Lebowski
- because he's the dude..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dialogue in the Dark
- event that simulates being blind in Istanbul

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully in the end I can offer hosts the potentiality of a new friendship and a place to stay if they ever visit my region of the United States.
