About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To fill the places I visit with memorable people and experiences.

ABOUT ME

I grew up in New York, but my legs couldn't keep up with its pace. No person should have to eat their breakfast while walking and coffee should be sipped, not chugged. So I moved to Thailand in 2010 and have been doing development work in a village four hours east of Bangkok for the past two years. It's been a whirlwind of emotions, but in the end, an absolutely incredible experience.

I first started traveling when I was 19, and have been hooked ever since. I've so far been fortunate enough to have the destination always be worth the journey - and so I trudge on.

I am admittedly a bit sarcastic, but not cynically so; I love life and the people who make it what it is; I'd rather spend three days in one place, than one day in three different places; I still say "Yo" a lot even though I know it's not age appropriate; I'm convinced that anything can be remedied by a good meal; I hate getting lost in cities; I welcome getting lost in the countryside; I enjoy the eccentricities of others - however weird.

PHILOSOPHY

There's always a silver lining. Find it!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When my friends and I visited Khone Phapeng Falls in Laos, we found a little swimming hole about two kilometers away from the main view point. I'm pretty sure we weren't allowed to be there, but curiosity got the best of us. When we swam a bit up stream, there was a dammed part of the waterfall that masqueraded itself as an infinity pool overlooking the entirety of Khone Phapeng. We all floated on the edge of the dam, looking down on millions of gallons of gushing water emptying itself into the Mekong. To say it was breathtaking would be an understatement. And I remember thinking, “This is why I travel.”
