About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Take over the world! Nah, that's too much work. Explore as much as possible.
ABOUT ME
How does one even go about describing themselves without sounding pompous? Pfft. With a good dose of sarcasm (or in the third person. Heh), I'd have to say.
I'm a rambling individual taking a year or two (or five, or seven) to explore this beautiful world with my partner in crime, Lucus (for those who wish to get acquainted with the lad: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/lucus-danckwart).
I'm a humorous individual with a love of banter (which I've discovered does not, in fact, translate well in all languages), rambling conversations and finding joy in the little things in life. Personally, I think you should formulate your own opinion. Preferably over a pint or a coffee. :)
PHILOSOPHY
Try everything at least twice (unless it gives you violent food poisoning, then maybe not….)
Take chances.
Be kind. You never know what someone else is going through.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing for the time being, but I hope to host some of you beautiful people when I have a space of my own.
Seeing as I'm kind of poor, that may just be a box under a bridge somewhere. Heh. Mi caja es su caja, in any case.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The CS community took me in and kept me from becoming a homeless cripple.
Yeah, there's a story there.
You should ask me in person sometime.
Interests
Travel (deliciously cliche, I know). Reading. Yoga. Good coffee. All things art. Good scotch. Spontaneous adventures. Cycling. Food. Sleeping (tis one of my talents, really). Riding. Hiking. Good beer. Animated discussions.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Eh. As I'm not much of a tv person anymore, you'll notice my movie collection is a bit spare. Regardless: anything Miyazaki, Shawshank Redemption, Star Wars (the old ones), Lord of the Rings, Fight Club, The Matrix, The Hobbit, Baymax, etc.
Books: Anything, really (and when I say anything, I literally mean anything. As a voracious reader, I've been known to peruse anything from Terms and Conditions to the backs of food labels when lacking a good book).
Some current favorites, however:
Dune - Frank Herbert
Ready Player One - Ernest Cline
The Culture Series - Iain M. Banks
The Patternist Series - Octavia E. Butler
The Formic Wars - Orson Scott Card
Hyperion & The Fall of Hyperion - Dan Simmons.
Plenty o' others. Ask away if you're curious!
Music: changes with the season and the country. Always looking for new music though, so feel free to make a recommendation here or there. Unless it's country music. Then you can just keep that to yourself, my dear.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have a pretty random set of skills and can't say I could teach you anything of much use, but I'd be happy to show you to make origami cranes or how to do some basic yoga poses. I would be thrilled to learn from you though. New things and knowledge fascinates me. :)
