About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To begin a network of people before I begin my own travels.

ABOUT ME

I've been living in Boise since I turned 21 and have grown up in and around this wonderful valley. I am now fortunate enough to live in the best, most classic, and truest neighborhood that speaks to Boise's fine character. The outerlying reaches of the valley are tinged with the absence of character and yet this portion next to the foothills is still pristinely original. Four blocks away is the city's best (in my opinion) park, Camel's Back. It's a hiking trail system that goes on for miles. My dream has been for years to become a travelling teacher of English in as many countries abroad as I can. I think this is my final year in the Valley as an opportunity has presented itself to me and I hope to be on my way by the time I turn 26 in February of 2009. As the plan stands now, Prague is my destination at the Caledonia School of Language. However for all I know I could end up in Argentina.
For more about me and my friends here in the Boise Valley, fearandloathing57 is my url at myspace. cheers!

PHILOSOPHY

I am perpetually tumbling down the rabbit hole of this thing we call Life. Open minds in the present moment is a miracle in and of itself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After reading an article about this site in the Boise Weekly, a lightbulb clicked on in my head for a way to bring more varied culture into my sphere and the spehere of my neighborhood. This is the beginning, I will get back to this!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While I have not had much in the way of international travel, I seldom venture out of Boise unless I have someone who has a couch I can use! My most recent adventure was to Portland Oregon. After a night at the bars, I decided on a whim to jump into a car with a virtual stranger and seek out hot springs that were the bees knees. Several hours later, at dawn, we found the springs. returning to my friend's house, I did not even make it to the couch. I slept for three hours on the floor and was ready for a night of Burlesque when I woke up.

Interests

I love to listen to people with true insights and intelligence over beers or spirits. Politics and news is what I do instead of watching TV. I use the internet for that, and have only the local channels on my recently connected TV. I write all the time in all different manner of ways. Nature is better than the city, yet both allow for the harnessing of light in photographs. Some day I will get a better camera.

Music, Movies, and Books

Indie Music...I spend most of my listening time on soma.fm, an amazing set of internet radio channels based in San Francisco. Movies that don't follow formula are my favorites. I am all about the referrence books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The first thing that popped into my head was my brief stint on "The Weakest Link." I wooed the producers and casting people, a week later I was on an all expense paid excursion to Hollywood and was voted off in the second round...

Teach, Learn, Share

Alternative History, Metaphysical theories, Political Deception(as sinister as it may be)
