About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I will find the best iced coffee on earth.

ABOUT ME

If curiosity killed the cat and I was the cat, I would be dead. I would have died many times, actually.

Just want to learn new things and have new experiences. I fret about things a lot, which has held me back from a lot and I think I've missed out on cool stuff. BUT this shall change!

I grew up in NY and have never lived anywhere else. I've haven't traveled too much out of country - I usually default go to Japan, but I should really expand my horizons!

PHILOSOPHY

A phrase that my best friends and I usually say is, "Can I just live?"
Another one is, "You do you, enjoy yourself."

No regrets and everything happens for a reason.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm just starting! I've heard about it and being a spontaneous traveler that doesn't travel as much as I'd like, this sounds like a good way to lose some lame excuses like, "but where would I stay?"

A bit overwhelmed by what to do first, but looks like an awesome community!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went to Lollapalooza last year (2011) and it was my first CS experience. It was really fun and awesome - I wish I could travel so much more so that I can meet interesting people and see new places and eat everything in the world via expanding my CS circle!

Interests

Films.
Iced coffee.
Late night chicken kebab sandwich. Or any food, really.
Walking.
Listening to stories.
Laughing at stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love british gangster movies, ridiculous action flicks, not-too-indie-indie-films and obscure Japanese movies. I love Guy Ritchie, Luc Besson, PT Anderson, Christopher Nolan and David Fincher.

A short list is: Snatch, In Bruges, Lost in Translation, Dedication, There Will Be Blood, Lars and the Real Girl, The Big Blue, Inception, I Love You Man, Blue Spring, Shark Skin Man and Peach Hip Girl

Music is also a weird bunch, here's a few: LCD Soundsystem, Gorillaz, Athlete, Daft Punk, A-Trak, Kanye West, Blur, Passion Pit, Clipse, Stereophonics, The Arctic Monkeys, N.E.R.D., Eminem, Kid Cudi, Ratatat, B.o.B., Girl Talk

I haven't been reading as much as I should. I've loved every single John Irving book I've ever read so far. The Fountainhead. Malcom Gladwell makes me ponder things. I can't get enough of Catch-22. Into the Wild makes me want to live more spontaneously and instinctively.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went on a roadtrip from Vegas to NYC with my best friend that was moving back to NYC from LA. 15 States in 7 days; probably the best travel experience I've had so far. Feel lucky to have been able to do it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I... could teach you Japanese. Or talk about movies for hours. Over coffee. I would also be willing to help you coordinate your outfits.
