About Me

=== For surfers - I am quite selective with who I accept as I am not on CS just to offer a free space to anyone. For me, CS is a platform for me to meet friends I otherwise wouldn't meet and share a bit of time together. So for this reason, the least I'd expect from people applying is for them to thoroughly read my profile. ===

For now, I am based in GZ but wherever I am or wherever I go, I am always looking for my tribe.

I prefer mountains over beaches.
I like getting away into the wilderness whenever possible! (There are a
few things that feels better than sleeping to the sound of nature in my tent)
I love traveling on two wheels
I used to go on a journey just to get to the destination. Nowadays, I pick a destination just so I have a reason to embark on a journey.
Of all the adventures and journeys I've been on, the inner journeys will always be the most liberating, transformative, and soul enriching.
Unless I am passionate about or have good use for something, I will do most things by the 80/20 rule.

I am passionate about connecting people, creating small communities within big societies, collaborative consumption, effective altruism, and social enterprises. Outside of my job I run an outdoors Meetup group with a focus on meaningful conversations and collective learning/growing, I like to get outdoors as much as possible, and recently I've found a lot of joy/peace just mindfully wandering around the streets of Melbourne (now GZ). I fill the rest of my time with all the things I love doing.

Food and cooking is something else that I am passionate about and I'd love to one day do a project related to food.

I care deeply about equality (in all aspects of the word) and sharing my happiness, especially with those less fortunate than I am.

I have a pretty awesome job that allows me to work from anywhere as long as there is a good internet connection. Though as much as I like my job, I'd like to one day eradicate the word "job" from my life; that's what I am really working towards.

A few philosophies I try to live by -
"For me, I am driven by two main philosophies: know more today about the world than I knew yesterday and lessen the suffering of others. You'd be surprised how far that gets you.” Neil Degrasse Tyson

"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony." Gandhi

"Absorb what is useful, discard what is not, and add what is uniquely yours.” Bruce Lee

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really like the philosophy behind CS and I think it's a great community of wanderers, travelers, seekers, and life lovers. I've wandered myself to Guangzhou and wherever I am, I am always interested in connecting with interesting people, I am fascinated by the human mind! I've actually been a member here for many years but I've never surfed nor hosted before, but now I've finally got my own place to host. I accept all human beings, but I will be selective with whom I accept. There is nothing special you'd have to do, just be yourself, have plenty of information in your profile, thoroughly read my profile, and then when you request to stay, please tell me why you had chosen my place. What is it about my profile that had appealed to you?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rode my bike around NZ for two weeks, and it's one of my most memorable, soul invigorating, and fulfilling travel experiences.

I had unintentionally hiked the 17-days Annapurna circuit as my first ever hike.
