About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make friends from around the world, learn new languages, watch good football, listen to good music, learn what I can learn from other countries to make my own better

ABOUT ME

I have just started working. Lucky that my work could bring me to some interesting places, although it can be gruelling at times when offshore.
I enjoy singing, listening to good music, and watching well-played, passionate football! (not good at all at playing though). Not overly sporty but I do jog, and play bad football/ badminton/floorball. I do love travelling and seeing more parts of the world, getting to know people from other countries, probably even learning a new language or two.

maybe my friends can describe me much better than I do haha

probably going to learn my 6th language soon, currently learning Spanish step by step.. If you can sway me to learn other languages too, you're welcome!

PHILOSOPHY

Work hard, play harder, (then pray hardest :D)

Everybody's crazy in their own way. Just find a good and productive way to be crazy.

If you ask me 'where are you from', don't blame me for taking two minutes to explain it. If you want short answer, ask me 'which passport do you hold?'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have read about this website before, but a friend of mine (Dea :D) recommended it to me. I think this is a great idea for people like me, who are often curious about how locals see places from their own eyes.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

emm.. I have met various interesting people through CS. In Germany I also participated in a big meeting in Nürnberg, the Big Franconia Meeting. I have surfed quite a few times and always find it to be a pleasant experience. I made a new cs account with the facebook integration thing. Hope my further experience will be a good one!

Interests

Singing, Music, hiking and soaking into mountain scenery, read all sorts of books (mostly nonfiction - science, history, everything), see aeroplanes, postcards and unique stamps & little coins

As with most Indonesians, I play football and badminton (badly). I played floorball (unihockey) sometimes too. I also started to run frequently

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Death Note, Das Wunder von Bern, The Pianist, Good bye Lenin, Amazing Grace, Now you see me (only a movie fan seasonally)
US TV Series: Leverage, White Collar, How I Met Your Mother, The Amazing Race, Mythbusters, Game of Thrones, Suits, departures,

Music: Muse, A7X, Laruku, Silbermond, Xavier Naidoo, Edward maya, Philipp Poisel, die Toten Hosen, The Script, Train, Tipe-X, Yovie and the Nuno, other 1990s and early 2000s Indonesian bands, many other musicians, from EDM to even classical music.. people say my library is a very weird mix..

Books: Books about Indonesian history written from outside point of view, Detective Conan mangas, general history books, travel writing books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing up the Ulmer Münster (the church with the large spire in Ulm)then descending it in 10 minutes in a frantict tumble down then sprinting all the way to Ulm Hauptbahnhof to catch a train!! - i believe somebody misread the train timing and only realising it last minute-

Sea voyage from Singapore to South Africa and then to Chile!

Watching Champions league semifinal of Borussia Dortmund with a buddy who only got the ticket THE NIGHT BEFORE.. (and me at the same time somehow finding fellow Dortmund fans for a few hours of carpool cheer) #echteliebe

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach hmm Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian), or even Basa Jawa (Javanese). If you travel to Java, Indonesia and the local see a foreigner speaking just one sentence of Javanese he/she might get a heart attack! It's very much a socially layered language which I myself do not fully master at the highest level though..

I'm yet to master cooking many Indonesian dishes well, but I can try..

What I Can Share with Hosts

Experience and stories of working with people from different parts of the world...
Travel tips in general or other things about Indonesia
Moments and badly cooked Indonesian food...
