ABOUT ME

I'm currently a student at Marlboro College studying Sculpture with a bit of CS thrown in.

I'm an eccentric. I am known to make things. I tend towards frugality. I'm more often quiet than not.

I've been an active contra-dancer for about 4 years (Greenfield, MA). I've done a bit of Argentine tango and at one point someone taught me the basics of swing (Falcon Ridge, 2010).

I've been caving a number of times with the outdoor program at my College. I'm not particularly claustrophobic. I like crawlspaces.

PHILOSOPHY

Do ridiculous things. Don't be afraid of weird looks. If you see something interesting, take the time to look at it. Learn things. Don't stagnate.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

February 2010, I went to Saratoga Springs, NY to volunteer for the Dance Flurry. My host was most excellent. My friend Erin did the legwork in that situation.

I intend to do more couchsurfing when the opportunity presents itself. I eventually (post-college) want to drive across the country. Couchsurfing seems like an interesting way to do that.

Intereses

I'd really like to explore some steam tunnels at some point in my life. I've about exhausted my opportunities for weird spaces at my tiny college.

This summer, the only CD I had in my car was Joanna Newsom's Ys.

I really should read more books. I've read books. Really, I have!

A few years back I went to the Yucatan and saw Chichen Itza and a number of electric blue underwater caves (cenotes).

I find fixing things deeply satisfying. Broken things bother me.

I know my way around a sewing machine.

I can put a pretty good edge on a knife though I'd like to get better.

I started using Ubuntu linux last year and am quite fond of it. I'd like to learn regular expressions.

I play the piano and musical saw.

I have a pretty good roll in a whitewater kayak.
