Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I think that the best way to travel is light, and to stay with a friend! They say the world is getting smaller due to technology - but I have found that it is still such a big place, with so many new experiences to have. While some things are best experienced on your own, because time is always of the essence, when I go somewhere new, I prefer to have an expert's view to guide me. Couchsurfing is a great way to meet and make friends with the experts of any place! Likewise, when our schedule permits, we love having guests and lending our expertise to our visitors!

Intereses

My family is very important to me: my husband and I have a great time with our kids! On my own, my life is my art and much of my free time is spent doing something to better myself in my field: classical singing; opera or otherwise. For 'downtime' I do love a witty or scary movie either at home or in the theatre or reading anything from science magazines to classic novels to biographies.

Música, películas y libros

My all-time favorite books, probably because I read them at a time when my eyes were first really opening up to the world are The Scarlet Letter, Frankenstein, and Silas Marner. Movies are much more difficult so I'll stick to genre - romantic comedy, thriller/suspense are my favorites. But the most difficult of all is music, since that is my livelihood! There is very little music that I don't enjoy in one circumstance or another, let's see if you can find something I wouldn't like!

Singing Beethoven's 9th Symphony in Carnegie Hall, the stillness and peacefulness of Süleymaniye Mosque ın Istanbul, the gondola ride in Venice, the list goes on - so many wonderful moments!

I can cook some wonderful Turkish food - being here 10 years has taught me a thing or two. I can share stories of art and travel, but I also love to LISTEN to what other people have to say!
