Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a traveling and a couch surfing addict.
I usually stay with family I've never met, friends, or my friends' parents (that's the best!)
PS my profile says requests responded to = 0. But I only had 1 request and I was out of town and it slipped through the cracks! Don't be shy though!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
A few years ago I was flying from Boston to Edmonton and ended up getting stuck overnight in Minneapolis, St. Paul.
They were handing out mattresses and bags of peanuts at the airport so I convinced the guy who rode over in the seat next to me that we should take the train into town and just see what happens.
Weirdest thing, we ride the train the wrong way (not into town, but further into the airport) along with a group of locals who were just as confused with the train system as we were...we instantly become friends!
We end up going to this cool bar and then after to this late night vegetarian eatery. Turns out the guy is this crazy local artist (by crazy I mean really good) who's paintings are all over this bar and he knows everyone there. He introduces us to this couple who offers to let us stay at their place.
We stayed up late drinking and playing Nintendo with them before finally sleeping on the sofa bed. In the morning she cooked us breakfast and gave us a ride to the airport!
I've also couchsurfed and met people in TZ, Belgium, and South Africa!

Music, Movies, and Books
I must mention my favorite movie of all time: American Ninja.
I also read a lot of motivation/brain train type books:
Think & Grow Rich, Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, The Secret, Rich Kid Smart Kid, and the 4 Hour Work Week are among my all time favorites.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Trevi Fountain in Rome. I didn't even really know about it until I accidentally ran into it, wandering the streets of Rome.
Very cool.
