About Me

¡Hola!.... Hello!... 你好...Hej!

LIFE MISSION:

Not to be GODÍNEZ* ever again!

*Urban Dictionary: In Mexico, "Godínez" is used to refer "Salaryman" or "White collar worker", who usually make uncreative and repetitive tasks, working from Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 18:00 hrs.

ME:

I am Mexican currently living in Sweden. I'm from a city located right on the corner of Latin America, immortalized by a Manu Chao´s song in 1998 "Welcome to Tijuana; Tequila, Sexo y Marihuana". At least that was the first thing I discovered about my city since I started to travel.

I did my undergraduate in my hometown, Tijuana, and I traveled around my country many times during my "GODINEZ LIFE" (if you don't know the meaning of this please google it or just scroll-up). However, even if I was following the "Natural way of life": (1) to born, (2) to grow up, (3) to study, (4) to work, (5) to get marry*, (6) to have children* and (7) to die*, I didn't feel like that kind of "lifestyle" was for me. So I quitted my job, packed a bag and left. (Well, it wasn't that easy but this is just a summary).

NOTE: * Not Yet.

___________________________________________________________
Three important things about me:

[1] I started to travel a little late (better late than never) compared with many travelers.
[2] And I'm doing it slowly (in my own way) compared with many travelers.
[3] And I haven't visit many places (yet) compared with many travelers.

But I am using my own system "low budget, many friends", and I think it's starting to work well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

During 2015 when I moved from my hometown to Washington DC and I felt like I needed to meet local people and this app gave me the opportunity make excellent friends.

Then I also attended to some meetings during my trip in New York where the CS community is really big and I really enjoyed it.

I truly believe that there should be no borders in minds, or superstitions about cultures, religion or race. So I really trust that communities like this will help the new generations to break with the old mentality of superiority through cultural and philosophical exchange.

I'm here to meet people, learn about different cultures, and make friends, not to get/be free host or tour guide of anyone.
