Overview
About Me
I am an Indian twenty-something, living in Singapore and working in the IT space for the last 7 years. I am a software developer-turned-project manager. I am a closeted workaholic, and an open travelaholic.
Growing up, there wasn't a long weekend or school vacation that passed without a family trip - sometimes an elaborate and planned one, and sometimes an inpromptu road trip. The bug has remained, and I love tour planning - for myself or my friends, or just for trips that I will go to someday, but I don't know when. Food is my biggest love, nature being a close second - good food in the lap of nature is the dream.
I am an outdoorsy person who enjoys the occasional sound of solitude. I don't really have a type - I go with the flow and enjoy the moment. I am up for long conversations over tea or coffee and also for a night out with drinks.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Every time I have travelled solo, the chance encounters with the locals turn out to be the most delightful experiences of the trip. Nobody knows a city like a local who lives there and truly loves the place - I know because I feel this way about my home in Calcutta, India and about Singapore. I have been unable to host in Singapore as I live in a shared housing, but I hope to keep fostering friendship beyond the borders :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I grew up with Harry Potter and it is my true love. I read anything I can lay my hands on. I am currently engrossed in Jeffrey Archer's short stories
TV Shows: Game of Thrones, Modern Family, F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
Music: Soft romantic music on a rainy day, and anything that makes me shake a leg on others \m/
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have spent several months of my life combined in the Indian wilderness. Every experience in the wild in unique in every sense - from tracking a tiger from alarm calls and pug marks, the hit and miss experiences as a result of it to looking into the eye of the tiger as he walks towards your safari jeep, a leopard zero in on her prey, majestic elephants playing in the water with their babies but reminding the bear who was approaching the water hole that they will have no mercy. Nothing I have ever done or will do will parallel the joy of sitting in the jungles of India, expecting the unexpected.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook spicy and non spicy Indian food, India chai (perhaps known as chai tea latte?) and show you a Bollywood move or two :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
A drink or two, loads of stories, friendship and company whenever you are over in Singapore :)
