About Me

My name's Aaran, I'm an artist/illustrator/designer type who is in search of adventures, new people and experiences!

I love the truth, I want to experience an authentic and unique lifestyle that is honest and real to the core - I'm not satisfied with having average experiences, I always want to experience more and this hunger really drives me.

After growing up as an Indian born in the UK, I decided it was time to visit the country I have such a deep and unexplainable connection to. I travelled solo around india for 4 months in 2019. Met family for the first time, saw where my roots come from, got stuck in a cyclone and met the most amazing friends ever.
This also kicked started a continuous project, documenting stories of immigration and identity and looking at the Indian Diasporas in Western communities.

I want to experience life to the fullest and be inspired by the world and people around me!! Spreading positivity and learning!

Every person I encounter I take as inspiration, I try to live an artistic and creative life and everyone I meet becomes part of this.

I'm a free person who is completely open minded to all possibilities, people and lifestyles and I want to try everything!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because I love having new experiences and adventures, I love to meet new people and feed my travelling spirit and really get to experience a place and its people. I find the notion of crossing paths with someone very poetic, two people can have such an influence on each other in such a small space of time and that is the beauty of believing and trusting in the connections between humans.

I really appreciate and love all types of people. I want to learn about people, their ways of life, their culture and appreciate their uniqueness.

Although I'm always looking for balance I love and seem to attract extremes, I love to feel the extremes of life, even something as simple as the intense heat of a sauna or the freezing cold sea, couchsurfing has got me into a lot of extreme situations and makes me hungry for more.

I was studying architecture for a year in Montana, USA in 2015/16 and I couldn't have had such memberable and unique experiences if it wasn't for couchsurfing! I met some incredible people from all walks of life and I will never forget any one of them.

Since my time living in Copenhagen and travelling around Europe and India, CS has introduced me to some of my best friends and the best people in my life.

Interests

Art, design, travel, exploring, finding the 'hidden gems' and having unexpected experiences! Beat poetry, photography, trying new foods, learning about people and really immersing myself in different cultures.

I have been practising meditation since I was around 16, and I'm always willing to learn from others more about meditation and spirituality, it is an extremely important part of my life.
I am also an astrologer, I have been studying astrology since I was 8 (yes kind of a weird hobby for a child!), but I always love to give readings to people I meet if that's what they want!

I love meeting people and just having an amazing and fun time with everyone! Whether it be in bars or just outside enjoying nature!

I like hitchhiking, doing offbeat things and searching for ways to live on the edge.

I love conversations; and to really get to know people on a philosophical level.

Music, Movies, and Books

Cloud Atlas, Mr Nobody, Butterfly effect, All Good Things

Random avant garde cinema, old clips, stop motion, clips that are put together in beautiful ways

Diary - Chuck Palahniuk
Even Cowgirls Get the Blues - Tom Robbins
On the Road - Jack Kerouac

I'm open to all music types and love to see live local bands and listening to good unique music.

I love dreamy synth-pop techno electronic chill music (does that exist??)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in Montana, USA for 9 month - within which I travelled to places within the US and had the most amazing experiences!

Journyed solo to India, to the villages where my family originate from.

Stayed with nudists and bohemians and put myself out of my comfort zone time and time again

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn about anything! People, places, culture, strange things, interesting things, I'll try anything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Fun, positivity, interesting conversations and my lust for life!!!

I also love to do informal astrology birth chart readings!

Interesting situations that I've got myself into, like witnessing a murder confession in Scottish bar....

My experimentation with natural magic!

I can also make you a crystal necklace based on your personality :D

I love drawing, especially people, so I'd love to make a sketch of you to keep.
If I stay a superrr long time, maybe a painting if I'm able to get all the materials :)
