Canadian. Organic farmer. Traveller. Just finished a managerial internship on an organic vegetable farm in the Cevennes Mountains in France and am lucky to have some time to explore the rest of France before I head to England.

I've been travelling, wwoofing, and working for the past 5 years throughout Greece, Italy, England, Scotland, France, Czech Republic, Austria, Canada, Hawai'i, New Zealand, and the US, learning as much as I can about different methods of organic farming. I studied Theatre and English Lit at university, but found myself drawn to farming 5 years ago and I couldn't be happier. The dream, once I'm ready to settle back in Canada, is to open my own organic market garden near Toronto with a focus on affordable organic produce, and (eventually) include an arts retreat, eco-village, organic agriculture education center, and safe environment for queer and queer-positive youth to learn about farming. This new adventure begins Spring 2016. ;)

I'm a guy who loves nature and the outdoors, the beautifully inspiring sun, film (with a penchant for the indies/foreign/classics), film trivia, literature, cottages, cribbage, euchre, backpacking, organic farming, CBC Radio (the Canadian equivalent of BBC), antiques, thunderstorms, and cliff jumping... just to name a few. I'm very outgoing and active, yet love my time to sit, laugh and relax with great friends and great food and drink. I thrive off the good energy of other people. I can always be found with a good book in hand, a creative mind, and a sense of adventure about me. I love to utilize my body to its fullest potential and love getting my hands dirty and am happiest when I am digging in the earth.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new and awesome people and to see new and amazing places. As much as I like being a tourist, I love to find those hidden gems where I can experience the community and people of that place. Maybe find a great cafe to sit with my notebook and people watch, or the thrift store where the best used clothes are sold, or the best used bookshop, or comedy bar, or improv troupe.
