About Me

I'm currently living in Kuwait where I'm teaching History at an international school. I try to travel as much as possible and have been lucky enough to get around a fair bit in the last few years.

I'm a really outgoing person who loves to share a story and hear everyone else's. Always up for some fun and really enjoy getting a local insight in to places that I otherwise wouldn't be able to achieve by myself. Always like checking out the full range of activities when I visit; from the standard tick-box tourist to the nightlife to the obscure fringes of each town.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I used couch surfing on a trip to the US last summer and loved it. There is something about staying with someone from the area that immediately allows you to see a completely different side of the town that you would see should you be by yourself.

I had some amazing experiences couch surfing and would really like to make some new memories and meet some new people who can show me the best of what their town has to offer.

Interests

Obviously travelling is the top of list. I also try to do a lot of scuba diving when I'm overseas. I always enjoy visiting the quirky, slightly oddball places of each town and finding out the way people operate from day to day. Most of the interesting things I have come across have simply been the little nuances of each place.

I also do love a drink here and there, especially a frosty beer, and living in Kuwait certainly hasn't helped me quench my thirst, so should you know of any local breweries or bars, or are in need of a drinking buddy, I'm will happily keep you company.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been really lucky to have been able to do a lot of amazing things while travelling and it is hard to pick just one. Living in Albania teaching for a year was such a great experience and I got to see and experience so much. One thing I have done is spending a week in the Algerian Sahara with a couple of Tuareg guys and a 4WD, drinking tea and looking at a lot of sand (it was far more exciting than it sounds), as well as driving the US coast to coast last summer which was amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Being a History Teacher, I'd like to think I have aspects of that topic fairly covered. I'm also rather effective in quiz nights should one of these pop up during my stay.
Also very open to passing on some Aussie-isms for those interested.

I'm always open to learning new things. Everything from important life skills to the most mundane of useless facts. Anything is good for me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always up for a chat and have plenty of stories to keep everyone entertained (hopefully). Also love hearing about everyone else's experiences, no matter how mundane you think they are.

I'm always willing to help out around the house and do my part to make my stay as little hassle as possible to the host. Whether this is cooking, cleaning or anything else, it is not a problem and I'd be happy to help.

Always up for fun but also respectful of the hosts wishes should they want to keep everything a low key.
