Overview
About Me
I live in Denver, CO and am a civil engineer (design overhead transmission lines for the power industry). My wife and I are outdoor enthusiasts. We love hiking, skiing, and being in nature. We are taking some time off from our careers to explore Asia and South America. We are very excited to learn about new cultures and see some amazing sites. We are also hoping to volunteer along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My wife and I are taking a year away from our careers to travel Asia and South America. We felt that couch surfing would be a great way to meet new people and learn about new cultures. The best part of traveling to a new place is getting to know the people.
Interests
We are easy going, clean and respectful. The two of us like the outdoors and sports but enjoy museums and cultural activities as well. The travel we have done to date mostly revolves around trekking, learning about different cultures and most importantly the food :-) We also love music and like exploring the music culture of new places.
We look forward to meeting some of you along the way!

Music, Movies, and Books
I grew up when alternative music was taking off and love bands like Pearl Jam. I also love jazz music. For my bachelor party last year my friends and I went down to New Orleans which was one of the greatest musical experiences I have had. The music, food, and culture there was unlike anywhere else.
I am not a big fiction reader and prefer reading books that I can learn from. I love biographies of great thinkers. I recently read "The Wright Brothers" by David McCullough and am currently reading "Elon Musk" by Ashlee Vance.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jumping off of a cliff over Shotover Canyon (outside of Queenstown, NZ). It was so fantastic that I did it twice!
