Hello, amazing people! I am Aaron and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I'm originally from Malaysia but have been living in Melbourne for the past 5 years. So maybe I qualify as a half Australian? Anyways, I study medicine at Monash University but I have many, many other interests that even I can't handle them all sometimes. Another crucial thing that I love is food! My love for food is out of this world it's ridiculous. I love local delicacies and strive to find the best ones out there when I'm in that country. I believe that food and drinks are wonderful catalysts that enhance human connections. If you love food too, hit me up and we can go have some great (and cheap) food together!

Apa khabar semua? Saya Aaron dan saya berasal dari Malaysia. Saya pindah ke Melbourne pada tahun 2014 untuk melanjutkan pelajaran saya. Saya betul-betul suka Melbourne. Saya seorang pelajar perubatan dan tahun ni tahun keempat bagi saya. Kuliah/kerja dalam jurusan perubatan sibuk sial, tapi kalau saya ada masa luang (macam summer break atau winter break), saya pasti pergi travel. Saya harap boleh cakap dalam bahasa Melayu dengan fasih sekali lagi sebab sejak saya pindah kat sini, susah nak cari orang untuk cakap dalam bahasa Melayu. BM adalah bahasa yang amat indah sebab itu saya tidak mahu hilangkannya.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I believe travelling has a deeper meaning to it. Travelling with an aim to just tick off all the touristy attractions is not my thing. I travel solo so I can be more vulnerable to connect with the locals, get to know the culture and have someone to share good food and alcohol with.

I have always wanted to learn what the world has to offer, and the best way is by knowing the locals and learn from them!

Intereses

I play the violin! I was such a music enthusiast last time but I stopped taking classes when I moved to Melbourne. Also, I had vocal training since 6. It was only until I have to leave Malaysia for uni that I had to stop.

Medicine is a tough course, but I travel whenever I am free.

I love cooking a lot. I find it very therapeutic. One of the biggest reasons why I love travelling so much is because I love food, and I like to taste food all over the world. By cooking, I will try to cook what I've tried when I was travelling. This is the best way for me to reminisce the good memory and good company that I had when I travel =D

Música, películas y libros

I think I like all kinds of music except metal. The music that I predominantly listen to while studying is chill step, dubstep, lounge, melodic sax (I really like Ehrling!) and house. I enjoy dancing to EDM and love events like Ultra and Tomorrowland (I haven't been to Tomorrowland but I really wanna go!)

I also play the violin so I enjoy all kinds of classical music. Popera (like Il Divo/ Celtic woman) is my new obsession now.

I am into relaxing music such as blues jazz bossanova. Love Olivia Ong. Joe Hisaishi is the bomb.

Interstellar has to be the best movie ever. I also like to watch travel movie like "Under the Tuscan Sun", "The Motorcycle Diaries", "7 years in Tibet"... Oh and when I was in Italy, my host introduced Futurama to me which I've never watched before and I find it really funny! I recently found out about this travel food show called "Somebody feed Phil" and it's pretty good!
