I'm an avid budget traveler. Started at 16 when I took my first flight on AirTran from Chicago-Midway to Atlanta-Hartsfield. I've been to a number of places, but I'm starting to explore more of my own backyard (Midwest, USA).

Not hosting at the moment as I'm in transition. Once I'm settled, I'll definitely open my home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

First, I heard some positive things. Since I travel alone a lot, it's a great way to meet people who are open to showing a more authentic side of their town. I like authenticity.

Also, prices. :)

Interests

I'm not a very big club person. I like going out maybe one night when I'm traveling - mostly just to get a feel for the town. Other than that, I can easily do drinks at a local bar and head to bed. I love strolling alone through a park and watching people do their thing. I actually find that to be quite fun.

There's also reading, exploring new music, hiking, "skiing," and a few other things.

Music, Movies, and Books

Right now my favorite book is "Destined to Witness: Growing up Black in Nazi Germany" It's a collection of vignettes. Lovely.

Music: While I listen to nearly everything, I'm mostly into R&B/Hip-Hop. That said, my favorite album at the moment is Imagine Dragons's "Night Vision." It's been on repeat for quite a while.

Movies: I like quite a few, but I can honestly never get enough of The Devil Wears Prada.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gosh...Kayaking the boundary waters (Canada/Minnesota). That was an awesome experience.
