I never know what to write for these "about me" sections, which maybe says something "about me"?? In any case here we go...
We grew up in a town in North West Indiana (NWI) in the Chicago land region. We both went to the same High School that was fairly large of about maybe 4000 students. After graduating from High School we moved to Los Angeles where we lived for 4 years. There I pursued a career in the television entertainment industry working in post production. It was a great experience, but we soon realized we were not city people, and our lifestyles and careers were not for us! We spent the next few years saving up, and planning the next step of our lives. So we decided we were going to make a change, and moved back home with the idea that we would start working on farms across America, in preparation of starting our own farm. We are now coming up on the end of that journey with one more year of travel/working/learning, before starting the farm! So, that's where we're at...
I am an easy going person, who likes good food, good conversations, and the search for meaning in life, while hopefully in some small way leave the world a better place 👍
Что привело меня на Couchsurfing
To have a cultural exchange, and experience a country in a more meaningful way, by connecting with the people that call that place home.
I think couchsurfing and traveling in general is about putting yourself out there, experiencing something new, changing the way you look at things, and hopefully growing as person from it all.

Музыка, кино и книги
If I had to pick 2 books that have left a lasting impression on me they would have to be 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey (cliché I know...) and Mastery by Robert Greene. Besides for that there are plenty of other books that I really enjoyed. Although I tend to read mostly non-fiction. Another book I really liked was The Third Plate by Dan Barber.
We both love watching movies, and have many favorites!
Donnie Darko, Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Reqiuem for a Dream, Dark City, The Matrix, Mr. Nobody, The Illusionist, The Prestige, Fight club, Watchmen, Dope, S.L.C. Punk!, City of God, Butterfly Effect, Avatar, Inception, Interstellar, Lost Boys, Jackie Brown, Any Kubrick, The Strangers, Scream, It (the original of course), Babadook, It Follows, Super Dark Times...
As far as TV Shows go...
Any Anthony Bourdain show (No Reservations, Parts Unknown etc.)
Good Eats (Alton Brown is my hero)
Supernatural (Guilty pleasure. Definitely a chick show, but that's alright haha)
Breaking Bad, Death Note, Black Mirror, The Great British Baking Show, The Office
Dexter (work in progress), Bates Motel (work in progress), Walking Dead (work in progress)
I am also an avid listener of Joe Rogan's podcast!
I listen to a lot of different kinds of music. I especially like EDM, Metal, Classic Rock, Reggae, and even some country haha, but I have to admit I am a hip hop head. It's probably the music I listen to most often. I've been trying to get into jazz and blues lately as well, and love discovering new music. Too many artists to name.
Классная вещь, которую я сделал(-а)
Recently just replaced the clutch and rebuilt the manual transmission in my 2000 Honda Civic Si (poor man's race car) with some help from my Uncle.
So far the past two years we have worked on a 6 acre organic vegetable farm and winery in Northern California, where we produced wine using a native yeast fermentation. Then we were off to a 2 acre diversified no-till, no-spray farm in Northern Idaho where we grew all kinds of fruits and vegetables. We recently just finished the season at a 60 acre regenerative pasture raised livestock farm in the beautiful Southwest of Virginia. We raised chickens (for meat and eggs), ducks, turkeys, lamb, hogs, and rabbits. We processed all of our poultry and rabbits on farm. We've had some amazing experiences these past couple years traveling/working, and being invited into people's homes.
Учу, учусь, делюсь опытом и информацией
If you are interested in farming or learning more about where your food comes from in general; we can certainly help! We also LOVE to cook as well so if that's something you like to do we can definitely do that. (Seriouseats.com is pretty much our bible when it comes to recipes and technique). I really want to get better at learning to cook different dishes from around the world. I am also very interested in nutrition, although I am no expert.
I am a terribly curious person and find interest in lots of things. I love learning new things, and talking to others about life or whatever else comes up!
