Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Aaron, living on the road :)
Currently interesting in learning stonemasonry for building my future house.
Slowly traveling for almost 8 years, just spent 3 months in the Middle East backpacking (Egypt, Jordan, Syria :o)
Now in Switzerland learning some stone masonry for a bit before continuing to the UK/Ireland for summer.
I like experiment with defying the usual ways of everyday western life in exploration of different ways of living, particularly from different cultures.
I like to work online with my own little projects, so I’m able to find a bit of my travelling while on the go..
I have been a lot into motorcycling but I think I want to move onto something else now ✌️
Learned to drive in India of all places 😅
I have done enough long distance hiking to kill a camel.. 😬, I may have over done it a little, around 5000km over the past 5 years. I think I’ll stick to day hikes for a while :)
I’m born and raised in New Zealand, but recently got a German passport through my mother, so now I have 2 ☺️
Generally avoid politics etc, and just try to live my own life :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to explore the world organically, to experience lifestyles through living with locals from Couchsurfing and workaway (volunteering).

Music, Movies, and Books
I love most types of music. My most commonly listened to types are:
- Music that’s so unusual I don’t know how to classify it
- Buddha-bar
- drum and bass
But I like most types of music
Favourite book: Celestine Prophecy.
I’m a very picky reader, I don’t read much, only books that really pull me, and that feel central to my life journey.
Any book based on spirituality, and the practicality of it. Particularly Buddhism, Hinduism, and Taoism.
Recently I have been intrigued by Sufism, and have had some beautiful experiences in Egypt.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hiking the Camino De Santiago (El Camino / Saint Jacobs way) [x3]
