I am 22 year old American, who recently graduated of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. At U of M I studied environmental studies with a focus on education. My true passions are the outdoors, traveling, and teaching—especially working with kids. I've wanted to live and work abroad for some time now, but was too busy with school. I have always been drawn to Central America for its natural beauty and recreation opportunities, as well as the way of life and the culture. I also have a love for speaking Spanish, and I hope to gain cultural insights as well as language skills during my time abroad.

I have many hobbies that I enjoy, and almost all are active and outdoors. Playing soccer, riding bikes, hiking, playing frisbee, and skiing are some of my favorites, and I hope to learn to surf while in Central America. I also enjoy photography, good beer, and exploring new places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will be traveling alone and hope to make friends and to learn more about Costa Rican culture. I want to practice my Spanish as well, hoping to be somewhat fluent in about 3 months. I'd love to meet people to surf with, to hike and adventure with, as well as to grab a beer with!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelled for 3 weeks in California, Utah and Colorado living out of our car. Saw Yosemite and Zion national park, slept in the parking lot of Denny's on two separate occasions.
