About Me

Hi, my name is Aaron and I'm setting up this profile in preparation for travel, currently targeting the Mediterranean - Greece, Spain, Croatia, Greece. I was recently laid off by my employer of nearly 9 years and given a nice severance package so I want to take advantage of the opportunity and do some travelling. I'm pretty liberal, love music, respect the planet and individual freedoms and love to party and have a good time.... responsibly, of course!

For fun, I go to see live music and enjoy the outdoors in beautiful Southern California, where I have been living for 13 years. (I live in Huntington Beach and although I don't surf or play much volleyball, I am a beach bum and like to keep things casual, while enjoying the finer things this world has to offer.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I will most likely be travelling alone and my friend told me about Couchsurfing as a good resource for affordable accommodations and meeting cool people to enhance each visit.

I am hoping Couchsurfing will allow me to explore new places, enjoy new experiences and make new friends!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movie is True Romance.

My favorite book is Angels & Demons.

I love all types of music... I grew up on punk & hip-hop but really enjoy being turned on to new bands. To summarize what I like, I'll list: Ben Harper, NOFX, Bad Religion, Atmosphere & Thievery Corporation. Some of the newer bands I've seen recently include Highly Suspect, Michael Kiwanuka, Kevin Morby & Hamilton Leighthauser.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hang gliding in Rio de Janeiro was pretty cool!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a very open mind and would love to learn more about foreign cultures. I am fairly well traveled and can probably turn you on to a lot of good music!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am responsible, punctual and neat. I believe in the "leave no trace" theory of leaving any place in as good, if not better, condition than when you arrived.

As a home owner and frequent traveler, I am always respectful of the property and culture & customs of others.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Bahamas, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, England, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, United Arab Emirates

Countries I’ve Lived In
