About Me

~~~Sorry, currently unable to host but I'd love to meet up!~~~
*****Why am I on Couchsurfing?*****
My job in mental health provides me with access to a diverse range of people and I consider my opportunities to listen to people’s stories a true privilege! However, CS allows me to hear more stories – often less traumatic and full of inspiration and curiosity. I thoroughly enjoy listening to people’s stories and I believe that story telling is an art we have always appreciated as humans. Even if you are not chatty, I enjoy the silence and find the presence of others comforting.
Finally, I hold the firm belief that not all relationships need to be forever. The short time we spend together is a nice reminder that there is value in short encounters and that you can still connect.
*****Me in a nutshell?*****
I grew up in Dusseldorf, Germany (aged 9 to 21), have a Jamaican background, but hold mainly onto my British identity. I take pride in being open to diversity and I enjoy my curious mindset. This does mean that sometimes I might ask too many questions, but it comes from a genuine interest in people and their lives.
I appreciate my job within Clinical Psychology, but I do not live to work. I frequently engage in my hobbies and prioritise them. Some of my hobbies include music like hip hop and house music, DJing, Calisthenics, cooking, gaming, watching documentaries, football, boxing, Anime, exploring unusual beliefs and experiences; listening to podcasts (Team Joe Rogan where you at?), or just generally hanging out with people.
Looking forward to meet you! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To start some potentially amazing friendships and help out my fellow travellers. Hosting is a helpful way to challenge fears and learn that 99.9% of people have good intentions.
Interests
I am currently aiming to try at least one new thing out a month. It is not going well :D
As an alternative to religion, I have been familiarising myself with Zen and Stoicism based philosophy.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favourite book is 'Man's search for meaning' and film probably 'Mr Nobody' or 'Drive'. I'd also watch anything narrated by David Attenborough regardless of the content. My favourite documentaries are by Louix Theroux.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Swimming with glowing plankton in Thailand at night.
Exploring psychedelics like LSD.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to hear how and why people decide to travel or why you use couchsurfing.
Due to my job I could teach you about the mind, emotions and mental health.
If the German language is of interest, then I could teach you some basic phrases.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Connection - I am an open minded and good listener.
Flexibility - I always have a plan B for accommodation.
My labour - more than willing to help around the house with chores.
Countries I’ve Lived In
