About Me

Currently traveling Europe (by car at the moment) having visited France, Austria, Romania, and Germany. When at home I study in two graduate programs at Eastern Mennonite University, with my primary program of study in Conflict Transformation, which is a peacebuilding degree.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Winding down the last two weeks of a two-and-half month excursion in Europe. I would prefer to slow down and get to know local people more, now, than run myself ragged seeing sights across very long distances and crossing off my never-ending to-do list.

Music, Movies, and Books

Non fiction books, and a plethora of music genres and bands.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's not amazing, but I decided to create additional meaning to my last days on this trip by visiting places symbolic to the lives of existential thinkers/writers that have been influential to me.

This week I visited Hermann Hesse's birthplace in Calw, Germany, and then drove to the home of his later years, and the place of his burial, in Montagnola, an Italian-speaking village in Switzerland.

I also, a couple of weeks ago, made it back to Vienna, primarily to visit the Viktor Frankl museum, which is also in his former home, and subsequently visited his final resting place as well.

These were enjoyable experiences, aberrations from typical museums, castles, and tourist traps. Drives were long (very long at times) but I revisited two of Hesse's audiobooks along the way and had ample opportunity to enjoy some solid time for contemplation and reflection.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have no idea. But if I know it, I'm willing to teach it. If I have it, in almost always willing to share it.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation. I can buy food or take you out to eat one day while I'm in town. I enjoy being of use, so if I can help out with something, then great!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, France, Germany, Romania, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
