My name is Aaron Steger and I'm from a small surf town north of San Diego, California, USA. I am studying chemical engineering at UC Berkeley and I am currently completing a summer internship in Braunschweig, Germany. I enjoy the outdoors in every capacity, from playing volleyball and bodysurfing at the beach to skiing and hiking in the mountains. I am really easy going and flexible. What I like most about traveling is forgetting you are a tourist for a second, slowing down, and having a truly authentic local experience.

Let's be real, I'm a "broke" college student. But of course what makes Couchsurfing so intriguing is the possibility to meet local people who actually live where you are visiting and to make a global group of friends who will hopefully come visit me in San Diego one day.
