I am a stay at home dad of two boys, 13 and 4. My wife and I have been married for almost 20 years and relocated to Arizona from Michigan in 2003.

Before becoming a stay at home parent I worked in the nonprofit sector for over 12 years. I am now studying homeopathy with the hope of becoming a certified practitioner of homeopathy in the coming years.

I love the outdoors, traveling, gardening and have an active spiritual practice. I am also a beginning piano student!

Our family plans to take a year-long trip around the world in 2017 and another world traveler recommended couch-surfing as a low-cost lodging alternative that also allows you to connect more deeply with the local community, something we are very interested in!

We hope that couch-surfing helps make the world a little more friendly and allows us to connect with people who we might not otherwise meet as tourists in foreign lands!

My favorite musician is Ben Folds (Five). I love electronic music - and love dancing. I also have a couple of favorite local Az bands - Dry River Yacht Club (gypsy rock) and Black Carl (rock/blues).

My favorite book is Shogun by James Claville. I love historical fiction, and have read a series of historical Polish novels called Fire and Sword that are amazing!

I am not much of a movie buff Our 13 year old son, Omar, can quote movie lines ad naseum, so you will have to check in with him about his favorites!
