Overview
About Me
An actor and model from Chicago that suffers from a strong desire to escape and travel the world about once a year. An avid writer/brainstormer with hopes of having children's novels published one day soon.
I am also involved in combat sports.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In all honesty, though I've heard of couchsurfing before from both European and American friends alike, I've never had a reason (since I tend to stay with friends while traveling) to become involved with it until now. As luck would have it, on this most recent traveling adventure, I have found myself with very low funds and no converter for my phone, so had to hastily make this profile in hopes I can find a place/places to stay until my train leaves for Geneva on Monday morning. Of course, given the outcome of my experience this first time around, I can see myself utilizing this amazing and innovative service, both to host and to be hosted, more frequently in the future--and not just because I have to!
Interests
Traveling the world and immersing myself in the cultures of other people. I am very much so a believer in that traveling mqkes one a better person. I have met and made some life-long friends through traveling, and plan to continue doing so for the rest of my life! In fact, this is a main reason as to why I want to become a professional actor, so that I can film on-location and get paid to travel!
Other than traveling, I've a deep yearning to give back to children and the youth in general; before moving to Chicago, I worked as a youth counsellor at a high school for under-privelaged teenagers, and a, currently TRYING to write a children's novel.
Everyday interests fall under the following: Artwork (either creating or observing; oil paints are my favorite), Soccer, Mixed Martial Arts, Exercising, practicing improvised comedy (what I'm currently taking classes in), and incessant watching of films.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'll only list a few, as there is not enough room, and also there is something very disconnecting and non-human about listing things that you would normally talk in person about with someone. So when you see me, ask and I'll be more than happy to talk music, movies, and books!
Music:
Prince, Beatles, Common, NaS, Zen instrumentals, Sam Cooke, Red Hot Chilli Peppers
Movies:
Braveheart, There Will Be Blood, Legends of the Fall, Moulin Rouge, Dog Soldiers
Books:
Frankenstein, The Princess Bride; La Morte D'Arthur, any Calvin and Hobbes collection
What I Can Share with Hosts
Long conversations swapping travel stories, laughing about the hard times and marveling over the experiences. Though I've only lived in Chicago a couple of years, I can inform hosts of the rich culture found and the many attractions--both architectually and socially--throughout the Windy City. Having never lived for a long period of time (a year+) in any other country, I have 25 years experience with the infrastructure of American living and would be happy to share stories of America.
I am proficient with handy-man jobs, and if there are little jobs about the space of my host that needs fixing/attention, I would be more than happy to attempt to do so!
Basically conversation and interaction in general; I love to laugh and to be informed of countries and world facts.
