Overview
About Me
I consider myself to be a very polite, friendly, caring, and intelligent individual. I am also a great son, brother, and boyfriend, who loves my family dearly and who has much compassion towards others. Currently, I am studying history at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States. I am very interested in learning about global cultures and history. My plan is to one day become a professor, specializing in global, colonial history. Those who choose to invite me into their lives will see that they have found a very loyal, lifelong friend.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing, because I would like to meet and engage with other cultures and interesting people around the world. I feel that living and sharing time with the locals of whatever area you are visiting is the best way to accomplish this. It allows you both to share each others cultures and learn a great deal from one another.
Interests
I'm very interested in history and world cultures. This is why I like travelling, because of the new experiences and perspectives that can be learned from outside of your own culture. I love the outdoors. Fishing, camping, hiking, running and canoeing are all favorites of mine. Also, I really just love to hang out with friends and with cool, knowledgeable people.

Music, Movies, and Books
I can jam to just about any genre of music. I love Jazz, Blues, Soul/RnB, Musica Latina, Hip Hop, etc. As far as movies, some of my favorites include The Matrix Trilogy, Amores Perros, and Life. Lastly, one of my favorite authors is Osho. He was an Indian philosopher who gave many interesting perspectives on life, love, and happiness.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I'd have to say that my current experience here in Mexico is one of the most amazing things that I have partaken on in my life. I have been down here for almost two months, it is my first international experience, and I have learned so much about the Mexican people, while visiting many interesting places. Upon coming to Mexico, I've learned how difficult international experiences are. It is difficult to immerse yourself into another culture and language, but I am very proud of myself for taking on the challenge.
Teach, Learn, Share
Never settle for less than your ideals in life. Always strive to get exactly what you want and more, regardless of any setbacks.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share with my hosts good company, information, and friendship. I consider myself to be very knowledgeable of American history and culture; both the good and the bad. Consequently, I enjoy sharing aspects and information about the United States with other cultures, and also receiving the same in return; kind of like a mutual exchange. I absolutely do not like to freeload, so I will make sure to contribute around the house. Also, if anyone would like to practice speaking English, I can greatly assist. I am very limited in Spanish, but I know enough to translate many words, phrases, and structure into English.
