About Me

Welp, I like telling really stupid jokes, I like music, I like walking a lot, I like the desert, I like road trips, I like basketball, I like cooking, I like stories, I like talking, I like singing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wanted to go on Couchsurfing because I'd like to meet some people to talk to me about real places in the cities or towns I go to and learn about how they feel about this old world. I wanna forget about all the dumb stuff I think I know.

Interests

I've spent most of my life playing, singing and listening to music, it's probably my number one love. At the moment I'm studying to become a Primary School teacher and enjoying it a lot. I love big road trips, hiking and camping.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a lot of favourite music (sure you've heard that before, but really!), at the moment I'm obsessed with Young Thug but past obsessions over the last few months have included Gram Parsons, Zia Mohiuddan Dagar, Jack Rose, DJ Rashad, RP Boo, Bezenush Bekele, ask me more! I love to genuinely talk about and share music!

I've been watching pretty much nothing but Michael Mann films on my uni break because my brain broke, but I also really adore Herzog, Tarkovsky, Wim Wenders, Harmony Korine, plus lots of documentaries and action movies. I'll literally watch Total Recall at anytime (or actually any Paul Verhoeven movies to be honest).

My favourite book (so far) is The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. I love Southern Gothic/Lonesome West stuff too, Cormac McCarthy obviously, Sam Shephard. I really enjoy Kurt Vonnegut too. I need to read more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent two months driving across the South of the USA, living in an RV. Slept out in the desert trying to see UFOs in Texas, hiked 25 miles along the border of Mexico and thought I was gonna get eaten by a Mountain Lion but it was just a Buck (although a huge terrifying one), stayed on a farm in Mississippi and squashed pennies on the train tracks next to Charlie Patton's grave, nearly got tasered at a Big Freedia bounce gig in New Orleans, went ghost hunting in Savannah, got a lot of stories, helluva adventure.

Teach, Learn, Share

These are basically my favourite things (which I guess is why I'm gonna be a teacher). I love to share jokes and laugh, I like to learn how people feel about the world, I want to take on other peoples perspectives, I love being surprised by different ways of thinking, you get stuck sometimes when you stay in one spot and know the same people and sometimes you get lazy and think maybe you know something but then you don't really, you have to remind yourself that you can't give up on learning.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I think I have a fun energy when I meet and hang out with people. I love cooking for people and showing people a good time. I love a party but even more so, I love to just chat or go to someone's favourite place and swap good stories. At the same time, I really respect space and am tidy and understand what it means to share your home with someone and how to make you glad ya did!
